Bathroom wall panel -has anyone tried them yet?
Comments (8)Hi Carol waterproof panels are a great alternative to tiling a wall and have been used in hotels for many many years. The panels have been finding there way in to homes more and more in recent years. The initial cost of a panel could work out to more than what some tiles would cost but a big saving is then made in the time and labour charge of fitting a panel compared to having the same area tiled. If installed correctly they are perfectly safe and you should not worry about getting leaks through joins etc. Also if in 5-10 years time you decided to replace the panels they would be a lot easier to replace than tiles and a lot less mess made in the process. Hope this helps....See MoreBathroom Panelling!?
Comments (5)I had mine panelled with individual T&G cut to size. Undercoat and top coat of a dead flat wood paint, and it's still gr8 30 years on. Now you can buy the MDF sheets as mentioned above. You still have to put in place horizontal batons, but an under and top coat with a final coat of clear varnish - I would go for Yacht Varnish - and it'll last for years. Just make sure you seal top & bottom edges too. Good luck....See MoreUrgent Q. skirting on a wood panelled wall??
Comments (30)I have eggshell on all of our panelled walls downstairs, up the stairs and landing. Everything got painted in the same finish panelling and walls and it doesn't look shiny at all ( we used Farrow and Ball). It is so easy to keep clean with the dog and everyday wear marks and scuffs still looks the same nearly 4 years on. I also have Benajmin Moore's eggshell in my studio and that doesn't look shiny eitherl. I know I am not MATH but wanted to give you my experience. :)...See Morebathroom panels to cover tiles
