Barn Conversion and Extension
Adjacent to the house was a stone barn dating to 1832 which was converted to provide a ground floor playroom and first floor living space. This was connected to the main house by way of a fully glazed extension to house and serves as the utility room. The front courtyard was re-surfaced and enclosed to make it more child friendly.
The house is in a conservation area and the Conservation Officer was keen to keep a visual separation between the barn and house and so approved the glass link building which would have been refused if it had been a more solid construction.
