Contemporary kitchen renovation - North London
This Contemporary Shaker style kitchen was designed to meet the needs of a young family who wanted the ability to dine in their kitchen as well as cook facing out towards the kitchen. Without the space to include a full Island, we opted for a U-shaped peninsula based hob to provide the outlook and to keep the children safe from hot pots and pans. This peninsula also provided the desired breakfast bar the young family were after for the kids to be able to sit and talk to their parents while cooking, yet at a safe distance.
They wanted a bright and fresh colour scheme, so we went with a duck egg blue along with pale grey to provide a harmonious look. And with an injection of real oak in what feels like a sideboard, a textural dimension was added.
