Detached Family Residence Extension
This magnificent detached property is comfortably situated on a good sized plot, with a good sized front driveway and a lush rear garden. When our clients purchased this property, its back was closed off to the garden by a 1980’s rear conservatory which we removed. Since the property is big enough for this young family of four, we didn’t extend the ground floor but redeveloped the loft space to add a rear and side dormer. The rear facing rooms on the ground floor were joined up to create a large open space living-kitchen-dining room area, with a large sliding door opening up onto a raised terrace and the garden. The rear part of this property consisted before of a dark side extension room divided by a large fire place.
The entrance area is grand, with a good sized staircase now going all the way up into the loft space. Double doors lead into the front reception room, and the former garage has been transformed into a small front facing office, a Guest WC (the previous Guest WC has been small and squashed under the stairs), and a generous Utility area with enough space for ironing and the boiler with Megaflo, and the underfloor heating manifold, which heats the entire ground floor.
The first floor has now three bedrooms and a Master Suite and there is another room with Ensuite in the loft space, preceded by a large open plan study area for children.
