Internal redesign of a house in Earlsfield
Our clients approached us after purchasing this mid terrace property in Earlsfield. It has previously been extended, but its layout was not ideal – with the whole rear extension stepping down from the living room/kitchen by three steps.
After going through several options, we decided to move the kitchen into the rear extension but, for practical purposes, leave a small low level area next to it to give access to the rear garden. This became our sunken play area, which is separated from the kitchen by the kitchen island and a glass balustrade. More roof lights were added to the sloped extension roof and also the rear faccade glazing was changed to a large single fixed glazing and a comfortably wide single door.
The rear garden was also redesigned, with a custom storage shed and perimeter planters.
The kitchen is from IKEA with custom made veneer fronts. It has a stainless steel worktop as well as a breakfast bar with concealed sliding doors. The dining area has a custom made bench seat and a decorative illuminated coffer ceiling with strip LED lighting.
On the first floor we have two bedrooms, a utility room and family bathroom and also a small study to the front. The loft space is occupied by the Master Suite with a generous walk in wardrobe in the front eaves and newly enlarged rear French doors with a Juliet balcony.
