The project is situated in the heart of Haggerston, HACKNEY. The proprietors have created a great concept for work spaces to keep creatives in the Hackney area – which already combines: photography studios, desk spaces, a coffee bar, Taiwanese kitchen for lunches and great wine cellar. They wanted to add Art, Architecture and Photography magazines -displayed throughout the public area. We provided a design that not only did this but also activated the staircase by eliciting browsing and shopping.

The entire piece was CNC manufactured to enable quick assembly on-site from the assembly drawings shown below. The space it sits in is hard, industrial, minimal. So now the staircase has been activated in a different way offering multiple functions: Browse / Shop / Sit / Read / Drink
