Retail Design // DRAGHTS
Funded through a Kickstarter campaign, Draughts – London’s first board games café – the interior is designed around people being sociable for which we set aside larger areas divided by clearly formatted tables. The simplicity in the design and the functional components of the space were offset with the use of unique materials and bespoke engineered surfaces that convey geometric pattern as found on many of the board playing faces.
The gaming tables were custom designed to accommodate the gaming boxes below the over sized surfaces. The large dark red brick arch space was softened with the use of colour and materials that were introduced as a focus to bring atmosphere and identity to this brilliant novel concept for a board games café which houses the nearly 700 unique games.
