My clients asked me for suggestions on how to improve an unattractive, dark part of the garden. We decided to remove most of the existing planting, and the arch, and replace it with a summerhouse to create a place to sit and enjoy the late afternoon sun. A simple path was installed to link to a small patio outside the summerhouse, and a water feature set into an interconnecting brick circle.
