For smoky days...a double filter cleaner puts less strain on the fan with the addition of another filter and two 21-inch cardboard triangles. Place the two filters side by side with the arrows the same direction and tape them together, forming a hinge. Tape the sides of the filters to the fan, making sure the arrows point toward the direction of airflow. Then tape one cardboard triangle to the top and another to the bottom of the filters. .
Another good idea for closet storage
Nice idea for the corner of your walk-in closet
Could put the lower dining
Add a step!
Cherry shelf as an accent
Craftsman cottage
wood wrapped island with engineered quartz counters
Open ended floating top of the island for versatile dining options
Possibly have East end of the island open for 4 stools - 2 on each side. This makes for more traditional dining for 4. Could put one or more stools at the end of the island if the end had more "tradional" legs at the end of the island instead of a waterfall solid end. Stools could be pulled from the West wall sitting bar as needed to add to the dining area......Thought -.Island could be made wider to accommodate two diners if wanted for a total of 6.
If you want a mantle - possibility with the black fireplace below
Install LED lighting strips to the base to bring extra brightness to the whole space.
Large rectangular shape with red built-in bench seating!
The base-rail system seen here surrounds a stair opening leading to a kitchen and living room. “You can do triple-ply glass to avoid a top rail,” Jacobs says. “The truly frameless is where you would want to use laminated glass. Laminated glass railing consists of two quarter-inch-wide tempered glass panels with a layer of laminate in the middle, just like a car windshield.”
Window Sill detail
Organized!
Shiplap walls; furniture-like vanity in the powder room
Live edge wood mantel
The separate mini-drawer for lids.
Grab bar and tile suggestions.
Interesting; never seen one of these before!
From Susan: "nice detailing, use of wood, and I like the ceiling too. The island configuration with the stools on the end is something to consider as well...... gives more easily accessible storage space" I really like the detailing behind the stove.
2 sinks on a window wall, flanked by cabinets. Kara, I love this!!
Green cabinets and plants
Light grey "marble" tiles on the backsplash.
"Elegant backyard stone patio kitchen photo with a roof extension." Maybe we could tie this to the chimney in the large basement room....
Welcoming, farmhouse-inspired design, columned porch, multiple gables, shutters and interesting roof lines, brick and stone accents.
I like the clear school house pendants
A mirrored medicine cabinet is a great multitasker, taking up little room and looking neat. “I like a combination of drawers beneath a sink — for large toiletries, small towels, facecloths and so on — and shallow, mirrored storage above, for smaller toiletries,”
welcoming entry
This is the south face of the upper 2 floors of the 2011 house (you have the plans).
This is the west face of the 1916 house. I like the wide, welcoming entryway.
This is the north face of the 1916 house, showing the triangle window I like.
Brick flooring for entry
Glass with small panes surrounding the door. Gray-green paint with white trim and dark green door. Brick walk.
shallow porch over entry; metal roof
Glass-and-steel dividers and doors between interior rooms. They create an open feel and allow light to pass between rooms while still providing some privacy and noise control. Plus, they just look cool, adding a stylish graphic element or contrasting color to otherwise white walls. I like this idea for the door and extended to the whole west wall of study 2.
A line of pendant lighting to light the countertop surface over the sink in lieu of undercabinet lighting.”
