73 Charles Street - Architects Discussion Book
Rear doors were in "kit" form and not tailor made. So the build was to the specific size available
Warm both sides The divider is vertical rather than horizontal in this home. Again, it creates more intimate areas within an open layout. The bonus here is the inset fireplace, which is double-sided and a cosy focal point for this seating area and the other one beyond. The log store alongside is a winner, too. It’s functional, of course, but it also allows glimpses from one space to the other, maintaining the open feel.
Think outside (the box) Lights designed for the outside of a house can be a stylish choice for a kitchen wall. The owners of this new room opted for large metal dome fittings that definitely aren’t out of place on the original stone wall. They provide effective illumination for the oak worktops and range cooker below. These lights are hung from an electrical conduit running along the surface of the wall. It’s not a choice that would suit every kitchen, but here, not only does it solve the issue of not wanting to chase electrical cables into the stonework, it’s also the perfect complement to the industrial elements in the room.
Broken Plan with sliding barn-style doors
Seamless design
Interesting use of recycled materials. Bricks and recycled floor boards look pretty cool but on a greater scale would they look mean?
Laundry/Utility Room - Stone gable wall with white walls is cool. As is long hanging pole above machines
Hide Utilities behind picture frames

Looks to be correct size ie shirts, jackets, suits, shoes. Need similar for ladies section.
Love this door with coloured glazing - similar to london home
Similar colours help to enlarge the room as in these doors which recede into the wall making it feel bigger
Great shelving and great light
Nice layout - Open plan, furniture not very comfortable, not very warming though!
In a narrow hallway situation, this looks amazing! But EXPENSIVE??
