The kitchen is the central focus of the main living area, defined by an angled breakfast bar with a facade of narrow, rectangular limestone slate tiles set in a random pattern. Leathered Cappuccino granite with a chiseled edge by Viktor's Granite and Marble dresses the top. The industrial style pendant fixtures are from Christie's Lighting. Brodie Smith of Packard Cabinetry added the compact wine bar, positioned for convenient access from the adjoining living room. Impeccable workmanship is evident in the cabinetry, which was custom designed and hand-crafted by Packard Cabinetry. The cooking area's "hearth" is maple and given a deep espresso glaze. A shallow niche, inset into the tumbled marble tile backsplash, echoes the narrow tiles of the breakfast bar facing and is artfully illuminated by LED lights. How do I choose my kitchen units and cabinets?

When picking out kitchen units and cupboard styles for a fitted kitchen, you’ll first want to consider the more practical questions – how many units do you need? It’s always best to overestimate how much kitchen storage you’ll need as we all tend to have a habit of filling up whatever current space we have to the maximum. Shaker style cabinets and raised and recessed panel cabinets offer a more traditional kitchen cabinet look, while flat panel cabinet doors tend to lend more to the modern and contemporary style. White kitchens can give a sleek and clean feel, but remember you may have to do a bit more cleaning of those cupboard doors if you want everything to stay shiny and fresh.
