Classical Kitchen, Gloucestershire, England

Traditional Kitchen, Gloucestershire

We were invited to create a bespoke kitchen within a new substantial domestic wing to Williamstrip Park. The architectural design of the room was led by Craig Hamilton. The kitchen furniture was detailed with classical doric Greek mouldings, designed as a scaled copy of the facade of the new addition to this John Soane country house. The stone brackets supporting the arches were inspired by the kitchens at Badminton House. The kitchen sinks are cut from solid blocks of stone. The open shelves adjacent to the fridge were made using English cherry. The backs of these cabinets are curved and at the heads we formed concave domes by laminating cherrywood panels and coopering them. Primary materials: Handpainted furniture, Carrara marble, Belgian blue granite, English cherry
