Remodel of an outdated kitchen in a 60 year old building. The client is a gourmet cook so he wanted to maximize the work surface but keep the area as open as possible. We designed a "floating" or moveable island that can be pulled out during food preparation and tucked away under a cabinet when not in use to keep the floor space open.
