This project was designed by architect and developer of Cypress Pointe, Mitch LaPlante. To quote Mitch, "Nature is the inspiration for this pool and water feature design. The Tranquility Garden Pool is nestled quietly within grand oaks and large pine trees, orchestrated to blend into its surrounding. The curvature of the pool reflects the pattern waves leave on the beach as they wash ashore and the cascading water features are a nod the to the waterways that surround Kiawah Island, South Carolina. The pool and deck were built by Aqua Blue Pools. Water features installed by Aqua Blue Pools. The interior finish is French Silver Aggregate, the waterline tile is 1'x1" Fujiwah Albi, deck is a combination of Ipe wood and the pool coping is pre-cast concrete. Photo Credit: Clint Fore

Pool after finally finding the right person to fix it properly. It's a vintage hybrid (concrete bottom and fiberglass walls) and is so unique. Most pool repair companies told us to rip it out and start new. No way! It just needed some love.

Lea Frederick-Photo. Black bottom pools can look spectacular with NO worry of not seeing the bottom (you know...where the snakes are, at least that's what I'm told). So untrue. Both these pools were renovated some time ago and are crystal clear seeing all the way to 7-8' depth. The main drain - which you can CLEARLY see is where the snakes hide - hee hee. Not in these pools. Lovely Pebble Tec!

A eclectic garden or outdoor swimming pool can be a great way to cool off in the summer, and when the swimming pool covers are on, the fun can continue with steaming hot tubs or home spas. Better yet, if you have the budget and the space to work with, why not install an indoor swimming pool that can be enjoyed all year round? Do new indoor or outdoor swimming pools increase the value of homes?

Outdoor or indoor swimming pools can significantly impact property value by attracting buyers with bigger budgets who are looking for a little luxury in their home. However, installing a large eclectic swimming pool could also negatively impact the value of your house if there isn’t enough space left in your garden for anything else. This is why it is important to seek guidance from a swimming pool installer or expert, and choose a swimming pool installation that can fit tastefully in your garden. If you are planning to sell your home, you may also want to look into the range of large inflatable, above ground swimming pools now available so that you can take it with you when you leave.

What type of swimming pool should I install?

What material should I use for spas or hot tubs?

For a hot tub to survive the changing seasons it is important to choose a material that will be durable. Cedar or other wooden hot tubs can look attractive, but will be harder to maintain. The most popular material is often vinyl for its affordability and versatility but this material is also less likely to last. To get the best bang for your buck, we would recommend opting for a concrete or a fibreglass hot tub or spa, which would provide you with a sturdy solution. In addition, metal above ground hot tubs can be a durable option.
