We added oak herringbone parquet, a new fire surround, bespoke alcove joinery and antique furniture to the games room of this Isle of Wight holiday home
Project London
Design ideas for a classic enclosed games room in London with white walls, light hardwood flooring, a standard fireplace, a stone fireplace surround, a built-in media unit, wainscoting and a chimney breast.
Clare Elise Interiors
The living room is an evening retreat for the client so we used a dark green on all walls and woodwork to create a sumptuous and cosy feel and painted the ceiling in a dusky hued pink for a contemporary way to introduce some colour. Bespoke joinery provides clever storage solutions and more texture and vibrancy is brought in by the large rug which helps centre the furniture.

Inspiration for a classic games room in London with beige walls, medium hardwood flooring, a standard fireplace, brown floors and a chimney breast.
Collaborative Interior Design
We took advantage of the double volume ceiling height in the living room and added millwork to the stone fireplace, a reclaimed wood beam and a gorgeous, chandelier. The sliding doors lead out to the sundeck and the lake beyond. TV's mounted above fireplaces tend to be a little high for comfortable viewing from the sofa, so this tv is mounted on a pull down bracket for use when the fireplace is not turned on. Floating white oak shelves replaced upper cabinets above the bar area.

The spacious great room in this home, completed in 2017, is open to the kitchen and features a linear fireplace on a floating honed limestone hearth, supported by hidden steel brackets, extending the full width between the two floor to ceiling windows. The custom oak shelving forms a display case with individual lights for each section allowing the homeowners to showcase favorite art objects. The ceiling features a step and hidden LED cove lighting to provide a visual separation for this area from the adjacent kitchen and informal dining areas. The rug and furniture were selected by the homeowners for everyday comfort as this is the main TV watching and hangout room in the home. A casual dining area provides seating for 6 or more and can also function as a game table. In the background is the 3 seasons room accessed by a floor-to-ceiling sliding door that opens 2/3 to provide easy flow for entertaining.

Vision Construction
This project took place in Hebron Kentucky. The idea was to remove the dated colonial style trim that was surrounding the fireplace in order to create a more classic/craftsman style with dry stack stone, a rough sawn cedar mantle, and two built in bookcases on either side of the fireplace.

In the Music area of the Living Room, the client's collection of guitars and other stringed instruments were hung on the wall, as functional works of art. The Living Room project also included placing and hanging additional works of art, Paint color selection from McCormick Paints, and advising the client on a choice of hardwood flooring.
