This client is a local real estate professional that works primarily from home. She wanted an office space that reflected her personal needs and interests, but still tied in with the over all design of her home. When she mentioned that her favorite color was green, we decided to give this room a transformation with soothing walls in a warm shade of green, and picked up pieces with warm, soft undertones that complemented the bold color. The credenza by Hooker Furniture really pulls the room together and grounds the back wall. The floating desk is light and airy and doesn't weigh down the room. We finished off with personal touches and a touch of sparkle in the chandelier and drapery rods.

The home office featured here serves as a design studio. We went with a rich deep green paint for the walls and for the feature we added this Damask wallpaper. The custom wood work featured, runs the entire span of the space. The cinnamon color stain in on the wood is the perfect compliment to the shades of red and gold found throughout the wallpaper. We couldn't find a conference room that would fit exactly. So we located this light blonde stained dining table, that serves two purposes. The table serves as a desk for daily workspace and as a conference table for client and team meetings.

A carefully designed corner in your living room or an alcove can be made into a productive and stylish study space. If you don’t want to take up space, shelves hung on the walls will work just as well, and if you really want that authentic library feel then you’ll have to go with built in bookshelves that stretch from floor to ceiling. Next all you need is a comfy chair in amongst the books or a desk if you plan to do work or study from your library. Remember that library areas can be slotted in all around the home – under the stairs, in a corner of your living room or kitchen, as a mezzanine or in a small spare room.
