Traditional

A picture perfect terraced house in the centre of Penarth was the first home for this young couple who had the vision to move the kitchen into an unused dining room, complete with characterful fireplace. Dark and moody was on their wishlist, satisfied by the blue black tones of the Farrow and Ball paint used on al the Shaker cupboards. Balancing the dark furniture with cool marble effect Solid Surfacing worktops and white walls keeps the room light and bright. The window cill was raised to allow the worktop to flood through, somewhere for herbs and plants to sit in the sunshine. A shallow full height larder was built to the side of the chimney breast giving much needed storage, with an open display unit alongside for glasses and the odd bottle of tipple. Mid century lighting and ceramics add that personal touch to the room, so important when creating a home.
