Achieves a kind of grandeur with simplicity and confidence.” This project uses familiar shapes, proportions and materials to create a stately home for modern living. The house utilizes best available strategies to be environmentally responsible, including proper orientation for best natural lighting and super insulation for energy efficiency. Inspiration for this design was based on the need to show others that a grand house can be comfortable, intimate, bright and light without needing to resort to tired and pastiche elements and details. A generous range of Marvin Windows and Doors created a sense of continuity, while giving this grand home a bright and intimate atmosphere. The range of product also guaranteed the ultimate design freedom, and stayed well within client budget. Rénovation d'un maison 1930 | 120m2 | Lille (projet livré partiellement / fin des travaux prévu pour Octobre 2021) C'est une atmosphère à la fois douce et élégante qui résulte de la réhabilitation de cette maison familiale. Au RDC, l'amputation d'un couloir de 12 mètres et le déplacement des toilettes qui empiétaient sur le séjour ont suffi pour agrandir nettement l'espace de vie et à tirer parti de certaines surfaces jusqu'alors inexploitées. La cuisine, qui était excentrée dans une étroite annexe au fond de la maison, a regagné son statut de point névralgique dans l'axe de la salle à manger et du salon. Aux étages supérieurs, le 1er niveau n'a nécessité que d'un simple rafraîchissement tandis que le dernier niveau a été compartimenté pour accueillir une chambre parentale avec dressing, salle de bain et espace de couchage. Pour préserver le charme des lieux, tous les attributs caractéristiques de ce type de maison - cheminées, moulures, parquet… - ont été conservés et valorisés. une dominante de bleu associée à de subtils roses imprègne les différents espaces qui se veulent à la fois harmonieux et reposants. Des touches de cuivre, de laiton et de marbre, présent dans les accessoires, agrémentent la palette de texture. Les carrelages à l'ancienne et les motifs floraux disséminés dans la maison à travers la tapisserie ou les textiles insufflent une note poétique dans un esprit rétro.

Landing furniture ideas

The landing at the top of your staircase is too often a neglected but can provide valuable, flexible, additional space. The golden rule of furnishing landings is to ensure stairways aren’t impeded, but even with limited floor space this is an area that affords ample opportunity for furniture and design. Some landings may have enough room for furniture such as seating or bookshelves to create a quiet reading area, or a desk and shelving to provide a makeshift work space. Even if your landing is on the smaller side, use landing ideas such as a small hall table or stool accessorised with a table lamp, an antique bowl or flowers, which will add interest. A beautiful window seat can be the prize feature of a house, so if you have a bay window on your landing it seems a crying shame not to make the most of it. For a built-in option, seating with added storage can be installed under the window; alternatively, simply placing a bench, miniature sofa or chaise longue in the window will add charm to your landing.
