A transplant from Maryland to New York City, my client wanted a true New York loft-living experience, to honor the history of the Flatiron District but also to make him feel at "home" in his newly adopted city. We replaced all the floors with reclaimed wood, gutted the kitchen and master bathroom and decorated with a mix of vintage and current furnishings leaving a comfortable but open canvas for his growing art collection.

A renovated Arts and Crafts House in Dublin -
Designed by - Rhatigan & Hick and Aine Sweeney, Interior Designer
This Transitional New York loft style kitchen in Dublin encompasses the best in modern family living. A beautifully crafted, handmade kitchen by acclaimed Furniture Makers, Rhatigan & Hick emphasizes the height and volume in this light filled 400 sq. ft extension. The style is strikingly simple but uncompromising in its open plan nature.
This kitchen is designed to display, not hide the families motley collection of white and blue porcelain ,pewter, brass and mixed china ware. The soft palette of greys, greens and Off Whites harmonizes with the garden beyond the double french doors and reflects the light that pours through the Velux windows that cover the cathedral vaulted ceiling .
Equal attention to detail has been paid to the relaxed antique style of leather and wool dining chairs with orangerie table, the beautiful panelled joinery and built in furniture in the family room, the soaring aluclad graphite windows commissioned by the designer for this project and the distressed timber ceiling beams creating a beautiful, laid back room that the family spend most of their time in.
This home has been furnished with care and consideration shown to every detail from the soft-worn leather sofas and chairs, the calacatta marble worktops, wool and linen/ cotton blend soft furnishing inspired by colours from the Irish landscape.
Aged brass hardware finishes, oiled french wooden floors and a layered lighting scheme add to the comfort of this family home that effortless embraces and connects contemporary living with the original footprint of this lovely period house.

First of all, we would like to wish everyone Happy Christmas / Holidays
This is a beautiful kitchen I had the opportunity to photograph for Rhatigan & Hick. They do the coolest kitchens I have ever been in. I love the fact that the home owners are always so enthusiastic about the work these guys do. This is a little different as it is Gary Hicks Kitchen part of the duo.
With vaulted ceilings this kitchen started with the New York Loft Style extra tall book Case with hand draw glass fronted doors. The unit is 10ft tall and 10 ft wide.
Bespoke Solid Wood Cabinetry from the New York Loft Collection- handprinted in Little Green from the Colour Scales range, French Grey (Island and oven run) and French Grey Dark (bookcase) Work Surface in Carrara Marble.

Darci Hether New York
We completely gut renovated this pre-war Tribeca apartment but kept some of it's charm and history in tact! The building, which was built in the early 1900's, was home to different executive office operations and the original hallways had a beautiful and intricate mosaic floor pattern. To that point we decided to preserve the existing mosaic flooring and incorporate it into the new design. The open concept kitchen with cantilevered dining table top keeps the area feeling light and bright, casual and not stuffy. Additionally, the custom designed swing arm pendant light helps marry the dining table top area to that of the island.
