Ornate furnishings with contemporary gold art in this soft Master Bedroom.
Gold, grey blue, cream and black on white shag rug.
White, gold and almost black are used in this very large, traditional remodel of an original Landry Group Home, filled with contemporary furniture, modern art and decor. White painted moldings on walls and ceilings, combined with black stained wide plank wood flooring. Very grand spaces, including living room, family room, dining room and music room feature hand knotted rugs in modern light grey, gold and black free form styles. All large rooms, including the master suite, feature white painted fireplace surrounds in carved moldings. Music room is stunning in black venetian plaster and carved white details on the ceiling with burgandy velvet upholstered chairs and a burgandy accented Baccarat Crystal chandelier. All lighting throughout the home, including the stairwell and extra large dining room hold Baccarat lighting fixtures. Master suite is composed of his and her baths, a sitting room divided from the master bedroom by beautiful carved white doors. Guest house shows arched white french doors, ornate gold mirror, and carved crown moldings. All the spaces are comfortable and cozy with warm, soft textures throughout. Project Location: Lake Sherwood, Westlake, California. Project designed by Maraya Interior Design. From their beautiful resort town of Ojai, they serve clients in Montecito, Hope Ranch, Malibu and Calabasas, across the tri-county area of Santa Barbara, Ventura and Los Angeles, south to Hidden Hills.
Boehm Architecture
This environmentally sustainable second home draws upon local vernacular architecture of Cape Cod houses and the casual beach shack, while retaining vestiges of the previous house. It is composed of three volumes: bedroom wing, indoor living space, and outdoor living area. The windswept landscape, spectacular views, and fragile ecosystem informed careful placement and configuration of the house with its multiple outdoor living areas.

Tile Desire
ON-TREND SCALES
Move over metro tiles and line a wall with fabulously funky Fish Scale designs. Also known as scallop, fun or mermaid tiles, this pleasing-to-the-eye shape is a Moroccan tile classic that's trending hard right now and offers a sophisticated alternative to metro/subway designs. Mermaids tiles are this year's unicorns (so they say) and Fish Scale tiles are how to take the trend to a far more grown-up level. Especially striking across a whole wall or in a shower room, make the surface pop in vivid shades of blue and green for an oceanic vibe that'll refresh and invigorate.
If colour doesn't float your boat, just exchange the bold hues for neutral shades and use a dark grout to highlight the pattern. Alternatively, go to www.tiledesire.com there are more than 40 colours to choose and mix!!

This new house is reminiscent of the farm type houses in the Napa Valley. Although the new house is a more sophisticated design, it still remains simple in plan and overall shape. At the front entrance an entry vestibule opens onto the Great Room with kitchen, dining and living areas. A media room, guest room and small bath are also on the ground floor. Pocketed lift and slide doors and windows provide large openings leading out to a trellis covered rear deck and steps down to a lawn and pool with views of the vineyards beyond.
The second floor includes a master bedroom and master bathroom with a covered porch, an exercise room, a laundry and two children’s bedrooms each with their own bathroom

Modern loft. Surfaces built into the new railing atop the stair create a functional work area with a fantastic view and clear shot to the play space below. A wall separating the master bedroom from the double height living space was replaced with a folding glass door to open the bedroom to the living space while still allowing for both visual and acoustical privacy.

http://downtownphotos.ca/ | When purchased in 2009 this 900 sq ft one bedroom, two bathroom unit combining both classic and industrial finishes was predominantly olive green and in need of an update. With the help of several more neutral wall colours, along with almost all new furnishings and a pop of "Holt Renfrew" pink, this soft loft was transformed into a slightly feminine yet urban and still quite industrial space. The master bedroom is a glamorous take on rustic, traditional Canadian decor by combining an iridescent damask accent wall, silk curtains and a unique vintage chandelier with Canadian artwork, a classic Hudson's Bay blanket and an exotic cowhide rug. The end result is a warm and inviting retreat from the more modern open concept main living area perfect for entertaining.

The bump-out of the breakfast room creates a sense of privacy and shelter for the terrace. It was planned and executed in a manner that would not disturb the existing stand of mature trees on the property.
