Thank you for getting in touch. Our clients used a water-based stain by Sikkens in ebony. Good luck with your project!

Make a connectionThe cladding on this extension was also used to update the original 1960s house. The black staining is inspired by the weatherboarding on West Sussex barns, and the cladding is insulating, boosting the home’s energy efficiency. Think about adopting the same tactic if your house could do with a 21st century makeover – timber cladding can break up a less-than-lovely façade.

Clad itAfter…The same house with an asymmetrical extension, striking black cladding and a more interesting composition of windows, including one huge glazed opening, now feels architectural and much more special.

Dark wood cladding. Could be manmade.
