This chic home was a complete gut rehab job. After taking the home down to the studs and removing several walls, we updated the kitchen and bath. Lots of warm wood tones, mixed with luxurious marble and black accents, provide the perfect backdrop for the colorful accents brought in through furniture, art, and wallpaper. Designed by Joy Street Design serving Oakland, Berkeley, San Francisco, and the whole of the East Bay. For more about Joy Street Design, click here: https://www.joystreetdesign.com/

Robeson Design pays attention to detail while decorating a hallway at the top of a staircase. Why not make the connecting spaces in your home something special! Rustic Iron table hosts artificial greenery in blue pottery next to a vintage tool box and candle sticks all sitting as a base for this oversized piece of art.

This sophisticated Manhattan home is one of the penthouses in the Ritz-Carlton Residences on Central Park South in New York City. DLD collaborated with The Office of Thierry W. Despont on this project for a client who is a prominent philanthropist and art collector. “The wife wanted a timeless, elegant, restrained apartment. The husband wanted the art collection to read in a bold way.”

Embracing the dark side of this lacking in natural light hallway. Sometimes its best to embrace the challenges of a space and turn it into a drama filled positive!

In this gorgeous Carmel residence, the primary objective for the great room was to achieve a more luminous and airy ambiance by eliminating the prevalent brown tones and refinishing the floors to a natural shade. The kitchen underwent a stunning transformation, featuring white cabinets with stylish navy accents. The overly intricate hood was replaced with a striking two-tone metal hood, complemented by a marble backsplash that created an enchanting focal point. The two islands were redesigned to incorporate a new shape, offering ample seating to accommodate their large family. In the butler's pantry, floating wood shelves were installed to add visual interest, along with a beverage refrigerator. The kitchen nook was transformed into a cozy booth-like atmosphere, with an upholstered bench set against beautiful wainscoting as a backdrop. An oval table was introduced to add a touch of softness. To maintain a cohesive design throughout the home, the living room carried the blue and wood accents, incorporating them into the choice of fabrics, tiles, and shelving. The hall bath, foyer, and dining room were all refreshed to create a seamless flow and harmonious transition between each space. ---Project completed by Wendy Langston's Everything Home interior design firm, which serves Carmel, Zionsville, Fishers, Westfield, Noblesville, and Indianapolis. I am so excited to finally share my Spring 2018 One Room Challenge! For those of you who don't know me, I'm Natasha Habermann. I am a full-time interior designer and blogger living in North Salem, NY. Last Fall, I participated as a guest in the Fall 2017 ORC and was selected by Sophie Dow, editor in chief of House Beautiful to participate as a featured designer in the Spring 2018 ORC. I've religiously followed the ORC for years, so being selected as a featured designer was a tremendous honor.
