Studio Seventi

I used Studio Seventi to create architectural plans for a side extension and a loft conversion and to submit these plans to, and liaise with, my local council for planning permission. I found Godson easy to work with and he listened to me and my requirements for the extension. He was timely with his work and was very helpful during the planning process, which had its challenges at times being in a conservation area. I would recommend Godson, certainly for the type of work I had done.

My name is Andrew Williams and for 27 years I ran a property company called Rainbow Capital. We bought houses, developed them, and rented them to young professionals at an affordable price. Each development included a double loft extension, side and back extension and a complete internal configuration to maximise the lettable space and ensure the building reached its liveable potential and ultimate value. I first met Godson in 2008 and since then he and I worked together on each and every development. We worked collaboratively to conceive each design, submit drawings and applications for planning consent, building control approval and party wall awards with neighbours. The best aspect of working with Godson is his ability to listen, which can be a rare quality amongst architects we have used in the past. He will sit and listen to your ideas, and your needs - then gently introduce ideas that reflect your own, but with a marvelous design insight, which can only come from huge experience and depth of knowledge. We took on a massive 5-floor 16th-century palazzo-style townhouse in Northern Italy, It became very complicated to get someone in to look organically at the building, its structure, and how best it could be used. Having worked with Godson on ideas and projects for previous houses, it became evident, that the only option was to fly Godson over so he could spend time looking at the structure, measuring it - a herculean task given it had not been measured, assessed, or recorded since 1936. No drawings had been made of it in 70+ years, but it was clear that additions had been made to the building. It was imperative to have these plans so we could move forward with any structural supporting works [paperwork is everything in bureaucratic Italian planning offices]. Godson was able to map out the warren of rooms and profile a house that had been shaped by families over generations with 4ft thick walls, rooms within rooms, and half stairs at every turn. He was able to lay out ideas on how best to use the massive space, ideas which we implemented in the ongoing renovation of a beautiful historic building. Godson, aside from his professionalism, has a great enthusiasm for art and design and is incredibly easy to work with. Highly recommended.
