“Without any knowledge of this company other than online information,I tasked Karen to look at development possibilities for my 200 year old cottage. I did not want to move house though the cottage was just too small for my extending family. The resultant design that was approved by the local authority exceeded my wildest dreams and I solely put this down to Karen and her team's design talent and total perseverance. We really are indebted to her for what she achieved. I cannot thank Karen enough. She is also highly professional, focussed and very disciplined in terms of timescales and meeting deadlines. Clearly, I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this company.”

“Magnus proved himself excellent at making best use of space. He spotted that the original design we had for our granny annex put the bathroom in a prime position for living space. He produced an alternative design that moved the stairs and tricked a usable bathroom in underneath. As a result, we have a beautiful, good sized and sunny kitchen / dining space overlooking the garden and we observe that our guests spend a lot of time in this room as it is such good quality space. “Jamie worked with us and listened to our ideas. He explained options, was happy for us to spend time thinking and when our builder made a suggestion that suited him rather than us Jamie was quick to step in. He had a clear idea of what we wanted our pagoda extension for and was quick to point out potentially how dark this could make our kitchen. An excellent light tunnel he designed for our kitchen solved that. We could not be happier.”

“Amanda has provided an above and beyond service right from the outset. Working tirelessly to ensure that our design requests were both compatible with regulations stipulated and yet achieving all we wanted from the build. Keeping a keen eye on the detail throughout the project left us feeling confident and she was incredibly responsive to any queries which were raised. “I would highly recommend Alex and Amanda of Flockhart Architects. Alex and Amanda designed a house for us in Dumfries and Galloway and guided us through the planning application process. They proposed excellent ideas and options while at the same time they were open to listening to us and incorporating features that we wanted to try to include. They also were considerate to the financial expenditure and advised on cost saving options without losing quality. We found Alex and Amanda very helpful in going out of their way to make the design and planning application easier than it might have been and went the extra mile for us. “Buccule design undertook two projects for me from early 2015 to completion in early 2016, one was to have a conservatory changed into an integral room that could be used daily and permanently opened up into the revised kitchen diner area. Results were excellent internally and externally. Second project was for the addition of a bedroom, new ensuite and internal alterations to accommodate access to the extension. Similarly the end result was very good with both projects tying into the original house design and each other. Iain, the architect listened and developed the design around my requirements and together with the structural results, provided a well thought out functional and aesthetically pleasing result.”
