“We hired Phoenix Mountain Arts for a remodel of our kitchen and den. We were interested in reclaimed wood floors and new cabinets for the kitchen, also made with reclaimed wood, and a new massive mantel for our fireplace. They were very professional, laid out the plan for us to see and gave us a quote. We were able to see the wood that was harvested for our project before we started, to make sure we liked the look. We also got to help select the massive beam that was used for the mantel on our stone fireplace. The end result was magnificent and we are extremely pleased with the end product! “Mike Roland and his crew removed all old cabinets in the kitchen and master bath. Designed new cabinets to fit my requirements. The kitchen cabinets are maple cabinets finished with a cream lacquer finish. Wall cabinets on either side of the sink have glass in the doors. All doors have undermount glides giving additional space in each drawer. All drawers and doors are soft close. The workmanship is exceptional. Mike Roland was attentive to all the finishing details. He even located some old baseboard in my garage to finish things perfectly. He built a floor-to-ceiling wall cabinet and installed the shelves spaced to accommodate the height of my bread machine and mixer so these could be removed easily from the countertop when not in use. All sheves roll out. He built a very narrow cabinet bertween the dishwasher and the refrigerator cabinet which I used for spices. The island and bathroom vanity and a desktop in the kitchen are unstained cherry. Mike would have preferred to stain all the cabinets but the ones he painted (lacqured) as I requested are beautiful. He built a set of maple kitchen cabinets for our vacation home 10 years ago. Those cabinets are lovely, but he has improved his workmanship since then by using holes with small clips to hold selves rather than the metal strips used previously and fitting adjoining cabinets tightly so that no quarter round moulding was required. Amazingly, his price for the kitchen was comparable to the price for Kitchenmaid. And Mike uses more solid wood and less plywood in the cabinets he builds. I would use only Roland's Cabinet Shop for any future cabinetry. His cabinets are of furniture quality in that they are both beautiful and sturdy.”
