“We couldn’t be more thrilled with our new conservatory we are absolutely delighted with the result, and working with Faisal and Maciek, and the whole Atelier team, has been wonderful from start to finish. We were looking for a company who could do all the components of our build - the design, the planning application process, through to the installation - we live in a conservation area (and on the third level of a building) so the planning was going to be tricky, and the design and installation difficult. The project was to replace an old leaking and ugly UPVC conservatory built on the third level over what had once been a balcony. Because we’re in a conservation area we couldn’t change much and it’s a very awkward shape. Faisal’s design is absolutely superb - by using aluminium for the structure it is much visually lighter - and although all the openings are the same size, the lighter thinner frames, and with less panels than the previous structure, means that the light just floods the room and has created open vistas to the beautiful views. It is such a wonderful room to spend time in. The planning process was tricky, but Faisal’s team are very experienced in this area, so although the initial planning application was refused (usual laziness from the local planning department, not bothering to come and actually look at the existing structure), they reassured me that the appeals process was independent and submitted a very professional and detailed response to the objection, and the planning was granted on appeal (very pleasingly rebuking the planning department for not looking at the building!). Having Maciek as project manager, technical fabrication manager and leading the installation team meant that I did not have to worry about anything. Maciek’s meticulous approach - from the fabrication to its installation - ensures that the whole structure is millimetre perfect and his laser focused attention to detail, realising Faisal’s design, means the room is a delight to look at, there is not a flaw anywhere. The materials used, the coated aluminium is of an exceptionally high standard, and the thermal and self cleaning glass means the room is much more useable all year round, and is now properly integrated into our home (rather than a seasonal room). The opening gliding mechanism is so light and smooth, I can open a large window with a finger. We also had to add a safety rail to the exterior of structure as building regs have changed so much since the initial structure was installed, and I was rather disappointed that my lovely new windows would be obscured by rails. Faisal and Maciek listened and what they designed and proposed has created a small balcony room enough for plant pots and this has added so much that I am now completely delighted. I heartily recommend Atelier for any size or scale of project, not only are they thoroughly professional, with exacting standards (that will match your own), they are a delight to have around,”
