“Having been used to furnishing period properties, I suspected I would be in trouble when I purchased a large, square-roomed flat with no intrinsic features to guide me. Fortunately I found Lisa who, over a period of several months, has delivered a home that is both stylish and comfortable. She is very professional and needed to be extremely patient, since I knew what I didn’t want rather than what I did. After an initial meeting on site she produced mood-boards that were subsequently added to and subtracted from. Having sourced pieces that she felt would work Lisa accompanied me on two days of pre-arranged meetings with suppliers, her presence being invaluable in keeping me focused. She ordered items once decided upon and arranged for their delivery, which sometimes required time-consuming input on her part since I am absent from the UK for periods of time. Lisa has great ideas, is a delight to work with and really cares about what she does. In short, I have no hesitation in recommending her to anyone seeking a thoughtful, talented and pro-active interior designer.”

“IDY were easy to work with. After an initial chat they produced mood boards that allowed me to clarify my thinking, produced 2D layouts to check practicalities and then sourced product lists within my budget . It was a big project setting up a 4 bedroom seaside holiday home remotely during lockdown. I am thrilled with the end result, and visitors never fail to congratulate me on the interior design choices.”

“Velvet Shaw Design! What can I say about this lovely lady and her impeccable taste and interior design flair/ skill / passion! I was referred to Emma from Velvet Shaw Design by my Estate agents who highly recommend her and I’m very glad they did, I had a nice flat for sale that I personally renovated and it was just lacking that something to get it sold. As soon as I’d spoken to Emma I knew she was the right person to entrust the dressing of my flat and I gave her Carte-Blanche to do ‘her thing’ and I was amazed at the results when I finally saw them in the finished sales brochure . The clean minimal and yet sophisticated pallet of colours and fabrics she had used was perfect for my modern high end property and the simple but effective way she has dressed my flat is truely a testament to her professional talent and exquisite taste in the design process. I’ve been blown away by her approach and commitment to styling my property and I’d highly recommend her service as it’s been a pleasure the whole way through and a very reasonable fee to boot. I would definitely use Velvet Shaw Design again in the future as the added value by depressing my property has reflected in more offers and at higher values than expected. Emma really is the nicest person you could wish for and takes the hard work out of selling your property by her creative dressing and design. A must if want a quicker sale and more money! Thanks very much Velvet Shaw your the best !”

“Jane recently helped us during our renovation to make the most of our open plan kitchen-diner / living space. I was really struggling with an area that I felt was slightly too small to fit in everything (kitchen, dinner table and sofa) but was too big not to have the Sofa. The area also had a few funny angles due to it being an old farmhouse with new extension on the side. Jane was such a help and ended up giving us 8 separate options, all of which would have worked for us and met our brief. Her ability to visual a space and provide layout options that really work from a practical point of view but which are also aesthetically beautiful is second to none and she is also a joy to work with, a serene oasis in the chaos of a building site. Thanks Jane!”

“I cannot recommend Rebecca, Liz and team highly enough. Their creativity, flair and professionalism are first class. That with their personal charm, patience and good humour made them a pleasure to work with. Our project is ongoing we have renovated a Georgian Victorian house and they have worked with us on colours, fabrics and design. We did not have a large budget but they rightly pride themselves on working with the full range of clients. The shop is a great place to browse at fabrics and other accessories and their window displays are always lovely.”
