“Architecture and building works was something we had not done before and we found Van Ellen and Sheryn easy to work with and very professional, going beyond what was required to make the whole thing straight forward and trouble free. I wanted to convert an old conservatory into a usable space for all year round use. Van Ellen gave very good initial advice about what options were available to us with regards to the architectural work and costs. Then once we had agreed on a plan were excellent at giving us ideas based on what we thought, but added numerous options of theirs. They then gave us clear drawings of the different options and a smooth transition through the planning permission. They gave us numerous recommended contractors, material ideas, and even helped afterwards when the contractors had more technical questions at no extra cost.”

“Woodford Architects provided excellent guidance on the overall concept and architectural detail. There liaison and interaction with the other consultants and the local planning authority was very good. We found them easy and approachable, though also strong enough to ensure the original design principal was maintained, even under pressure from the client.”

“As a garden designer working mainly in East Devon I was delighted to be involved from the onset of this project to deliver this exacting client a garden concept that totally complimented In Ex's cutting edge design for a large new extension. Masterfully designed to fully integrate into the back of a small Victorian town house, the extension makes the most of an overlooked and awkward shaped plot, to provide a light modern family room and first floor bedroom accommodation of generous proportions. It makes no apologies in its modernity yet, through clever use of materials, sits well next to its Victorian neighbours. Both house and garden are to be a South West show room for this client's high end Audio Visual business that will allow him to refocus his mainly London based work and enjoy both living and working in Devon. It was imperative that the designs for the extension and garden accommodated and complimented the state of the art technology that would allow the client to demonstrate to prospective customers its huge lifestyle enhancing benefits. I have been impressed by this architectural practice's vision, high quality of presentation and level of communication during the project so far and I look forward to helping deliver with them a contemporary building and garden that both In Ex Design & Lookout Landscapes can be very proud of.”

“We have been thrilled with the way Beandesigned have interpreted our requirements. We had two projects, one was a barn conversion, the second, a kitchen extension.Because of their understanding of the planning process the drawings for both went through the planning application without a hitch. They produced some wonderful drawings for our barn conversion which completely met our requirements. I struggled to know what I really wanted to do with our kitchen extension. Andrew patiently produced different options and came up with an idea that was the solution. We are about to appoint a builder and I can not wait to get started on the project and to be able to cook in my wonderful new kitchen. They are positive, charming, intelligent and talented designers, I thoroughly recommend working with them. North Yorkshire”

“Some twenty years ago, Hugh became our architect for our new build house. It was a conventional ground floor three bedroom and garage with a green oak timber framed upper floor for living, kitchen, mezzanine etc. From the start, it was easy and pleasant to cooperate with Hugh, and he was most helpful in every respect, talking through our ideas and always giving good and useful advice; what he designed has since proved wonderful to live in! Hugh not only assisted us, but liaised with our builders, plumbers and electricians in an exemplary manner. As we were the project managers of the build, Hugh, with his expertise, made the whole project a much better experience.Over the years since the initial build, Hugh has always responded positively, and with his usual good humour, to our requests when we have felt his advice was necessary. We would thoroughly recommend him to anyone contemplating any architectural assistance.”

“Our restoration project evolved into a very special experience for all the team involved. Kirsty Curnow Bailey was recommended to us by a local buildings surveyor and we arranged an initial 2 hour meeting. The 'cost' to us was a donation to Kirsty's favourite charity. We gelled almost immediately and the journey began. We were involved at every part of the design stage and our ideas were blended with Kirsty's practicality and imagination. She lead the negotiations with the National Park planners and the conservation officer with great professionalism. She introduced us to two building companies and we were pleased to award the job to RM Builders in Tavistock. I year later the works began. The restoration took 16 months and involved a complete reroofing , new external lime render, major lath and plaster internal restoration and a full replumb and rewire. Kirsty was ever-present and chaired site meetings every 2 weeks. The budget was observed closely and contingency added at 2 different stages. Underground drainage works were a major additional cost and could not have been fully predicted at the outset. The build quality was exactly as requested and Kirsty was adamant that the planned standards were fully met. Discoveries on the way included a 1500 carved granite fireplace in the main room, finding a 3rd staircase inside a 5 foot rubble wall and opening up the blocked cross passage in the centre of the house. The oldest timbers exposed during the works date back to the 1300's! Kirsty was pivotal in returning our home to its current condition, blending very old with contemporary and very modern. We are delighted with the result and we would recommend Living Space Architects to any prospective clients. Everything now works 100%, the building breathes again and will be on track for the next 100yrs for sure. Thanks Kirsty Geoff and Sue”

“We have worked with Woco on a regular basis for the past 4 years, on several projects ranging from bespoke furniture-making to much bigger architectural projects. The guys are a pleasure to collaborate with - extremely sharp, fast, excellent at finding out of the box solutions, and always working with the greatest attention to detail. We really appreciate their design + build ethos, which helps them to bring beautiful fully-fledged creations to life. If we need to commission work, and the Woco team can do it, then we will do our utmost to work with them. ---- Attached a photo of a bespoke basin stand made in 2015 by Woco for one of our project.”
