“This is the third fairly large project for us by the contractor, NexGen. The first two were inside remodels; the most recent is a new 17 ft x 19 ft concrete front porch patio area to include a beamed overhead structure with ten 8" square pillars and square lattice-back wall with framed-board paneled lower third. Six of the pillars have lighting and there is a lighted ceiling fan hanging from the center beam. These two guys both have more than 10 years of experience in the building trades and have a remarkable ability to problem solve. They designed the beamed structure and hand-constructed the overhead beams. No matter the roadblock (and we had a couple in this project), they almost always present at least two options and then help you make an informed decision. They are prompt and professional, communicate well, keeping you informed of what's going to happen next and when and have never asked for more money than their original bid. They've built a great rapport with their subs, lighting vendors, plumbers, concrete, etc, etc, and all who supply them respond timely, which tells me they are respected in the local building community. Over time they've done a complete master suite remodel for us and also a kitchen update project that included granite counter tops, egranite sink, new back splash tile and a new stainless island exhaust plus lots of lighting! Next project? A total lower level walk out basement remodel......but that's for next year!”
