“Todd Boyd did a marvelous refresh/remodel of our unit at Wailea Point. The complex was built in the nineteen eighties and this particular unit hadn't had much done to it since. As a result unexpected problems kept revealing themselves. Plus, it all had to be handled distance as my husband and I were in California while the work was being done. Todd handled it all with aplomb and good humor. The job was finished on time and on budget and we are delighted with the results. We plan to do more significant work on the unit in the future and wouldn't consider hiring anybody else!”

“Mathers construction has completed multiple full remodels for me. When I say full, I mean demolishing everything in the home and then putting it all back together pretty. Other than being pleasant to work with, my favorite thing about Zach is that he doesn't have to be closely monitored. If you've worked with contractors you know how unusual that is. I've had multiple units where I did one walk through with him and a couple months later I walk in to a completed home that is nicer than what we talked about, and on budget. He always seems to come up with improvements that I overlooked. In closing, I'm hesitant to post this review because it may lead to him being less available to keep working on my jobs!”

“Maui Joinery Inc. has an incredibly intelligent and talented crew. They work smart, with up-to-date equipment, are knowledgeable about current trends, build straight, are honest, and are extremely accommodating. Originally, the main house and the separate guest ohana were going to be constructed separately due to time constraints involving the wedding reception, at our house, of our friends from China and Denmark; a really big deal. Somehow, even with too much rain, they completed both projects before the wedding and we were able to use them for guests. Building the house was wonderful, difficult, and at times frustrating. One other trait of all the guys at Maui Joinery is a good sense of humor and true camaraderie that helps at tense moments, as when a door is missing or the tile is back ordered. I love the house, and know that the creative genius of Doug and Matt and Dave and Matt 2 and Johnny, made it work and even turned possible issues into great design.”

“Island Independence remodeled both bathroom of my Wailea condo this spring. I feel very fortunate to have had Gabriel Krueger as my contractor. The project started on time and finished on time - a real feat in Maui where almost everyone and everything is on "island time." Gabe is especially gifted at finding creative solutions to those quirky situations that come up when remodeling a bathroom where the walls are not straight, etc. The finished bathrooms were gorgeous! Gabe is also exceptional in that he came back promptly to fix a few minor things that I hadn't noticed until after I had paid him in full. I can't say enough good things about Gabe - he is personable, intelligent, highly skilled, gifted problem solver, an excellent communicator and 100 % honest.”
