“Matt Bayley from MJB construction was great to work with. He helped us with projects large and small. We recently purchased a new home in need of major updates and inspection report fixes. Matt shored up some inadequate rafter supports, put in a casement doorway to open up the kitchen, and plastered a fireplace surround. Most importantly, he rebuilt 23 failing support posts under the house. Matt’s work was on-time and on-budget. When you ask him to do something he gets to work and does a great job. He took his time looking at the entire support system of the house and provided a thorough inspection. He identified the posts that looked ok, but were not. He pointed out where posts had previously been and were now just gone. The house is over 120 years old. With Matt’s help, I think it will continue to stand the test of time on a more solid base than before. Matt is great to work with. He has a methodical approach that is very professional. We needed a builder who was willing to meet with us and the subcontractors at each phase of the construction, review their tasks and materials (down to the glues, adhesives, tubing, screening, finishes, wiring, plumbing, lubricants, wallboard mud, concrete forms, etc.) - and to replace any materials we could find a greener alternative for. Spectrum and their subs were completely on board with our goals and after confirming that each of our replacement materials would actually perform as needed, used the green materials for their work. Besides being great to work with, the Spectrum subs were also superior craftsmen (and women). Throughout the building process we had so many special requests and Spectrum gracefully accommodated them all. Tim was on-site nearly every day and kept the project moving. He was also great at giving us the advance notice we needed to make decisions necessary to keep the project on pace. His subs were easy to talk with and many times offered valuable advice and information that actually helped to shape the best outcome of the project. We have been in our new house for 18 months now, and are very happy with every aspect of the construction. The house is a 3800 sq ft northwest contemporary style with a blend of concrete, steel, wood, tile and other finishes. Tim and his team seamlessly managed the integration of all of these elements.
