“Malaika's work is impressive on so many levels. Firstly, her great attention to detail. She 'interviewed me' many times to get a holistic picture of what I liked, how I wanted to use the space, what was important to me and what had been my barriers etc. Her design considered floor to ceiling, corner to corner, taking the time to patiently explain to me how colours and textures work together; how natural and artificial light can be used; But giving me choice and control over all aspects. Then how she presented her ideas, drawings to exact scale, textured samples and costs was really professional and reassuring. Photos on a website can only capture some of the perfect colours and finishing touches. But when you actually sit and use the spaces, only then can you truly get a sensory experience. E.g. the richness of the textures that you can't resist touching; how everywhere you look, you see something beautiful to appreciate and the clever design of effective storage spaces without compromising on the beauty. The quality of materials used such as the cushion covers, seat covers, curtains all beautifully stitched and made to measure is gorgeous. One can't deny her talent! Malaika showed great sensitivity and respect for my emotional needs, my culture and identity, my budget etc. Nothing was too much! I could ask questions freely, she adapted her design many times for my satisfaction and oversaw the transformation from beginning to end. Words can't express how delighted and grateful I am to Malaika for designing and project managing every step of this beautiful rennovation. I live in a safe and a beautiful space that finally fulfills it's potential. It is a dream come true.”

“As an artist myself, I’m very particular with my aesthetic style, but I’m also very bad at explaining myself. This was not an issue for Beth. I had a very specific idea of Victoria/ industrial/ minimalist and most importantly on a budget! She took my vision and surpassed anything I could have hoped for! Firstly the artwork she picked was perfect for my taste. Secondly, any random idea I had she sourced and mocked up for me, nothing was too much for her. “With a husband who works long hours, 3 children and 2 dogs I had little time to think about the interiors of our house which was under renovation. I knew I wanted a WOW house and anything but beige, but found it difficult to turn those ideas into reality. We decided an interior designer could help and turned to Louise who listened carefully and noted down the "definatley don't wants" (Beige!). From this initial brief, she went away and thought about how we used each room bringing suggestions and ideas to us for review. Lots of the ideas we hadn't thought about, one of these being wallpaper - having lived through the 70/80s I wasn't really keen! Louise's suggestions were however, very contemporary and fitted really well into the house! Louise recommended throughout the house not only the paint and fabrics but also furniture and accessories to bring the whole space together. These were collated onto sample boards so you get a feel for the whole look of the room.
