“Lauren is a gifted designer with a special affinity for modern style. She has relationships with a wide range of contractors and vendors, all of whom have been great to work with. My "great room" (kitchen, eating, living combo) had never been updated since moving in 20 years ago -- think hand-me-down furniture and paint, draperies, etc from the previous owner. Lauren guided me through refinishing the floors, mounting our TV on the brick fireplace wall, selecting and purchasing furniture, rug, light fixtures, custom window treatments, and paint colors. After being a widow for 5 years, I needed a "home" closer to my children and one that didn't remind me of my husband every where I turned. “We have worked with Ashley Carlton at the Ethan Allen Design Center in Annapolis, MD over an 18 month period. Our goal was to refresh our traditional room décor with current design trends. Ashley spent time meeting with us in the showroom and our home to understand our goals, share ideas as to what type of products and colors would blend and update our traditional setting keeping in mind our budget. She was always respectful of our likes and dislikes in design options. Ashley made excellent suggestions as to style options for window treatments, fabric choices and colors, and a new chandelier in the kitchen. She brought the colors into the family room by using a coordinating window seat fabric and pillows, a new floor lamp, rearranged our existing accessories and added a few additional new accessories for balance and texture. Two chairs were added in the dining room to accommodate needed seating while refreshing the look of the room and two lamps added a bit of sparkle to the living room and study. The bedroom was refreshed with a new quilt that coordinates with the wall color and when our budget permits, we will pull in an area carpet to complete the look. We are very pleased with the design results Ashley achieved working with our existing furniture. She has excellent follow-up and a wonderful personality. We greatly value Ashley’s opinion and ideas and highly recommend her design skills.”
