“I hired Exquisite Designs a little over a year ago for their interior design services. I had interviewed many interior design companies here in the Northern Virginia area but was not happy with the business practice of putting thousands of dollars down as a retainer before starting any work. At the end of the day, I selected Paulanne Gregson's Exquisite Designs company because of her very friendly business model of paying by the our for her time. Paulanne first worked with me to understand my tastes in style and materials and then came up with a plan to transform my home into a cozy living space. We started with picking colors and painting my family room and foyer and then selecting and buying furniture for my family room. We then progressed to redoing my kitchen including tile flooring, granite counter tops, sink, cooktop, under cabinet lighting and tile back splash. I liked that she was flexible in terms of allowing me to do some of the painting but also suggesting very reasonable contractors to do the work if I didn't want to, or couldn't perform the installation or work myself. She has a wonderful eye for color and making sure that everything matches. But one of her best attributes is knowing home materials (like wood, tile, types of paint, etc...) and their applications and making suggestions on their use. I'll end this by saying, it's been a very enjoyable experience in that she has been very flexible with me, allowing me to make decisions where I wanted but always being ready to step in with advice or making sure an installation contractor was doing the work correctly. “Serena originally helped me design a front living room in my home that sat mostly vacant for 6 years. We decided on a boho chic style to create a Zen-like feel. We worked collaborately on the design, and we both looked for furniture options individually. I found a set of chairs that I absolutely fell in love with, and she also really liked them. However, they were cost prohibited. She did some research and found the chairs several hundred dollars less and purchased them. The chairs became the focal point of the room and the rest of the design revolved around them. She recommended colors and textures and lighting. My favorite part of her design was incorporating macrame curtains. They were very unique and brought the style of the room that included different styles of wood, leather and fabric to a full circle of bohemian flair. Most recently, I purchased a condo for the purpose of creating an Airbnb/VRBO. In less than 3 weeks, Serena and I tagged team on the design of each room. She picked out tasteful luxury bedding, mattresses, furniture, artwork and decor. She was in constant contact with me sending pictures of ideas and updated me when she ordered items and when I should expect them to be delivered. She also bought many different decor items and brought them to the condo to see which pieces worked best. She returned the unused ones. A huge undertaking that was quickly assembled and put together right before my first booking. The end result? Perfection. A small open house left the guests in amazement and aw of each room and left us feeling more than satisfied with their wide eyed "wow" expressions. I am proud to host clients in what I feel is a comfortable and relaxing environment in a tasteful mid-century modern theme. Serena has a natural flair for design, and I would recommend her service to anyone who wants a facelift for their current home or starting from scratch with a design.”

“Chris Zoltan is a tremendous talent. His vision and insight are worth every cent of the design charge. I was nervous throughout the project. But in the end I realized that Chris had it right from the beginning. My living room and dining room space look distinctive and high style. His firm designed and manufactured customized leather love seats for my undersized living room. The love seats are gorgeous and so high quality. They were expensive but worth every single penny. There were some glitches in the project. I felt that the firm could be more transparent about the cost of ordering items through them versus ordering them yourself. It will save time and grief to order through them but it will cost you more money upfront. This cost is totally worth the convenience and, in retrospect, I would have paid it. But for cost conscious clients the firm should be upfront about that additional cost. Overall, I LOVE the design Zoltan executed for my project. I would use the firm again in a heartbeat. If you are looking for design on the cheap, Zoltan is def not for you. For distinctive, high quality design, Zoltan is an amazing partner for your project.”
