En suite bathroom We were extremely pleased with the whole project from the design phase to completion. Alex, Steve and David were enormously helpful with all of the aesthetic and technical aspects, which included moving a wall to create more space for a bigger shower, and the virtual 3D images of the redesigned bathroom made it very easy to visualise the larger room in order to choose colour schemes and individual items. The work was carried out on time, notwithstanding our antiquated plumbing, by the friendly and helpful team, who gave us good advice in relation to any practical issues that arose during the course of the work. We were also very impressed by the extent to which they cleaned up the area at the end of each day. The completed bathroom is finished to a very high standard and we are absolutely delighted with it. The team also replaced a sink unit in the other bathroom upstairs which was in danger of coming off the wall as an emergency additional item during the original project. We have subsequently engaged Roots to lay 2 new floors and install a wardrobe, all of which has been done to the same quality. We will certainly be using Roots again.

Throughout the process of rebuilding and redesigning our kitchen and two bathrooms Roots have been brilliant. As well as showing excellent craftsmanship and care for their work they were always courteous, communicative and totally trustworthy. They took what would have been an enormous stress for us out of the whole process - thank you Roots!

We went to a number of kitchen companies before we chose Roots and they varied from limited to very good but all of them failed in respect of having purchased the kitchen one then had to find a kitchen fitter to install it. Although they all recommended a kitchen fitter there was no clear plan of how the fitting was going to be implemented. Roots was the only company that offered a full from the factory to the final job with a fully planned and project managed job. We went to their exceptional showroom in a converted barn, met their kitchen planner who presented our plan, amended it as we directed until we had the kitchen we required. The planner and the Root brothers all visited to ensure that the planned fit was feasible. We cannot underline how important this site visit is as it foresees all the difficulties between planning and fitting before the job starts - something not possible with the other companies and, given any problems found would mean the planned kitchen being compromised as the fitting took place. The tradesmen that Roots employed were all skilled in their varied trades and they were very praiseworthy of the company. The electrician said he loved working for Roots because he always had a very clear plan to work to; the fitter said that Roots always put the customer first which meant, in practice, that any work that was not right would mean the fitter being expected to return and rectify it until the customer was satisfied! We live in a block of flats and the Root brothers were very aware of the need to avoid problems with other flat owners hence all debris was cleared from the site daily (no skips left for days being piled with rubbish) public areas were kept clean and no work occurred outside of 8 to 5 nor at weekends. Dave Root project managed the job and he worked tirelessly to ensure everything that we asked for was completed to our satisfaction and he always responded, usually within minutes, to our texts or calls. We cannot underline how important it was to us having a competent project manager who dealt with everything calmly and competently - we were never stressed because of this and were entirely confident that the job was being completed satisfactorily. It states on the Root’s website that Roots are more expensive than manner other firms given their services but this was not true in our experience. All the fitters recommended by the other kitchen companies were going to charge around the same price as Roots and their prices were essentially guesstimates as they did not provide comprehensive plans. Roots provided detailed plans both for the fitting teams to work to as well as a clear time line for the fitting which was almost entirely adhered to. We unreservedly recommend Roots as a company and would certainly employ them again and advise anyone planning such a project to at least ask them to assess your project. Chris & Kathryn

Roots have been absolutely amazing. From the first time we walked into the showroom in July, to now, the end of February, the whole experience has been positive. Every member of the team and all contractors are highly professional in their attitude, and all very friendly and easy to work with, making it a pleasure to have them in the house. Our project was not straight forward, but Roots welcomed the challenge, adapting throughout as needed. From the first survey, through the design stage and then build and fit out, they all consulted us and we felt our view was considered. What a fabulous find through word of mouth This company can pretty much do everything your kitchens, bathrooms, utility rooms and bedrooms Great project managing, with good finishing and cleaning and everything Is handed back to you perfect . My partner and I recently commissioned a new bathroom from Roots. Every part of the process from the design to the installation was made clear and straightforward. It was a tricky space as it is quite compact, but Rachel designed it beautifully; we finally have enough storage as well as a bathroom with real 'wow' factor. Also, the customer service from Roots is second to none. Can't rate them highly enough.

Roots refitted our bedroom whilst we were away on holiday for a week. We came home and it was all finished, but not only finished but finished to a very high standard. We are very pleased with the work they have done for us and would have absolutly no hesitation in using them again.

Having been very unlucky with builders when I first bought my house, I put a lot of time into researching the best company for the refit of our small and dated family bathroom. I found Roots via Houzz, liked their website and thoroughly enjoyed the whole process from discussing initial ideas to the completed project. It was great how my ideas were embraced and how cheerfully unusual requests were accommodated. I have neither a grand house nor unlimited funds and the project was certainly not cheap (I paid about double of what a well-known bathroom chain quoted a couple of years ago). However, this is money well spent because the whole process was stress-free, interesting and rewarding, met deadlines and agreed budget and I am very happy with the quality and look of my new bathroom. Everybody involved in the renovation was very professional and pleasant but Brian, David and Rachel stand out. Rachel designed the bathroom, produced very helpful sketches and a virtual 3D simulation that allowed us to get a very good sense of how it would look and feel. Rachel was very patient and imaginative with our tentative and changing ideas and skilful in sourcing the exactly right products for specific requests we had. The whole process was iterative and relaxed, we never got the impression that we are being pushed or rushed. Brian is an extraordinarily skilled craftsman who masters many trades and puts tremendous care into everything as if lovingly renovating his own house. His attention to detail and the intelligent and thoughtful way in which he approaches his work are second to none. Having builders in can be disruptive when working from home but it was a pleasure having Brian in the house. David as project manager oversaw the whole process with enthusiasm, commitment and flair. He visited the building site every single day, was very hands-on and easy to reach and communicate with. He quickly responded to any questions and sorted everything out promptly and efficiently. He is clearly proud of the work the company is doing, wants customers to be happy and has very high and exacting standards. I would thoroughly recommend Roots and am already saving up for the next project!

Roots initially fitted a sliding door wardobe for us in our seaside flat and the workmanship was, and remains, excellent. We then enquired about replacing the kitchen which is a small, almost galley-style room. We were fully involved in the design process but guided by Roots' expert designer. At no time did we feel that they were pushing their own agenda: the kitchen was what we wanted. If they thought our suggestions would lead to poor design or bad value for money, they said so; but the choice remained ours. The removal of the old cupboards and appliances and the fitting of the new was carried out by Roots, on schedule, over a few weeks. There were a couple of small issues during the fitting out process but these were quickly resolved to our complete satisfaction when drawn to Root's attention. The new Kitchen has now been in use for 15 months and we remain delighted with it. The design, workmanship and fittings are first class and it it is a joy to use. From our first cup of tea in their office, all their dealings with us have been both friendly and professional, even thought our project was almost certainly one of their smaller ones. Having compared notes with acquaintances who have had kitchens fitted by other firms, we believe that we received a very good service that represented very good value for money.

The Roots team supplied and installed 3 bathrooms, one cloakroom and two bedrooms for my husband and I back in 2011. All of the work was done beautifully and I can't recommend them highly enough. Even now, nearly 7 years later we still go to Roots if we have any plumbing issues and they always resolve them very quickly and usually without costing us a penny!

Having moved into my 1850 former Stable, I wanted to change the bathroom to a more modern style, with bath/shower. A friend recommended Roots, who were not too far way to visit their showroom and assess their options. I was looking for high spec, and they were certainly able to assist. The room size was a challenge at 1720mm x 2220mm with uneven walls. Roots came up with the perfect solution, and I love the Lauren basin, first seen in their showroom. The tiling and Amtico flooring compliment the whole room. The work schedule was kept spot on, and nothing was too much trouble, if a few tweeks were needed. I would thoroughly recommend Roots.

Roots have been fantastic and we are really pleased with the work they have done for us. Our house presented a challenge with it's uneven and bumpy walls and lack of any straight lines. But we now have a kitchen, which it is a pleasure to spend time in, our grotty downstairs loo is now a lovely cloakroom and utility area, and our tired bathroom now looks luxurious. Everyone involved with the refit was friendly, helpful and took care of our property and the end result more than meets our expectations.

Great service from quote to completed work. Extra care offered to avoid too much disturbance to elderly relative. All stages of work explained clearly. Tidy and cleared up well after each day and final day all waste collected. Very pleased with advice given when choosing to the final fitting.

Earlier this year we noticed that a hairline crack had developed in the bath in our house which was sixteen years old. We knew that to repair this defect would involve replacing the bath and redoing the plumbing and making good to the tile walls. As one of us had developed an autoimmune disease, we had in any case, been thinking about replacing the bath with a walk in shower. The crack in the bath made up our minds for us. Having previously visited Roots excellent showrooms, we met up again with the Roots brothers and their designer to discuss with them our needs. Roots make the claim that customers can “sit back and let us take care of everything”. In our experience that is very true. The Roots designer produced for us a design that matched our needs precisely. Once we had visited the showroom and were shown the products that Roots proposed to use in the new bathroom, we could see that the proposals clearly had been individually designed to suit our needs; we had no doubt that we wished to proceed with the works. We knew from the previous work with Roots that they managed projects well; the tradesmen used by the company would be of the highest standard in their respective fields and that they would be backed-up by the team at Roots. The works were installed by Roots own team of expert fitters who carried out their trades to the very highest standard of workmanship. We really did feel that we were dealing with a Roots extended family. One of the Roots brothers monitored the works throughout; he made sure that we were happy with what was being done. The works were carried out precisely to time and in accordance with the quotation. Needless to say we are absolutely delighted with the end result and would heartily recommend the company to anyone contemplating the sort of works that are offered by Roots.

From experience we believe this is an organisation you can trust to provide a quality service. Our new cloakroom looks amazing and met our specification perfectly. The welcoming and warm approach of staff feels genuine and reassuring. The product choices are sourced from reputable suppliers renowned for their reliability. The craftsman used to transform the design we developed together with the Roots team into reality were impressive, the attention to detail contributed to an outstanding finish. Roots kitchens fitted a boiler for me. The guys who came and surveyed the site and fitted it were courteous and professional. It was a larger than normal boiler and they managed to get it up stairs and fit it neatly in a small area. The boiler works beautifully along with the plumbing needed to expand my radiator run. A professional team. Good design and outstanding fitters that worked on our 3 rooms of kitchen, utility area and dining room. Excellent finish, work completed on time and the usual list of snags were dealt with quickly and without hassle. Would recommend.

Roots provided the complete package for our en-suite - design threw to completion, which included the removal of a wall.. A schedule of work was agreed and everything fell into place beautifully. Clean, efficient and hard working teams. We were delighted with everything. We then got them to do our main bathroom some four months later.

When my son told me that he'd seen my kitchen in a museum of the '80's I knew it was time for a change. The cabinets and cupboards were high quality and I didn't wan't the upheaval or cost of a full refit so I went to see Roots to discuss a facelift. The female designer was wonderful. She helped me, a mere male, to design a new fascia, came up with a great choice of worktop and fittings and then completed the package with a terrific new floor. The fitter treated the job as though he were doing the work for himself, not a customer and the end result was so good that you'd never guess the skeleton beneath the showroom quality kitchen was actually 25 years old. I'd recommend Root's to anyone.

The Roots team are very good. Personally committed and very professional. Nothing was too much. Planning and keeping to schedule exemplary. Each area worked by very pleasant professionals who knew their craft and did not have blaring radios on all the time and quite happy to take two cups of beverage a day and no more. Each day the project manager was on site. No chasing required. You get what you pay for. Not cheap but worth every penny. This was a conservation / modernization of a 1910 bathroom / toilet.

We've used Roots for 5 bathrooms, 2 kitchens, a utility room, 3 loos, a hall renovation and an en suite bedroom fit-out, across two houses and over 12 years. What we most appreciate is that they can not only provide the full range of services - design, advice, project management, strip out, fit-out – but are human with it! Cheerful, understanding, flexible, and whilst not low-cost, nor infallible, they've done top quality and sometimes beautiful work for us, and we'd recommend them to anyone.
