“I started with a very boring and outdated kitchen with builder-grade flat panel oak cabinets and a small inefficient island. My options were to either hire a contractor to remodel my entire kitchen with new cabinets which would have been very expensive or find someone to refurbish my existing cabinets. I found Joe, the owner of Pro Refinish, by doing a Google search and then checked out his reviews on Angie’s List. With Joe’s input, we decided to have him paint the oak cabinets a cream color with a brown glaze to give it a brighter and updated look. He also added tall crown moulding on the top and a light rail at the bottom of the cabinets and new hardware to give them an overall look of custom cabinets. The next challenge was the small and inefficient island. Joe recommended enlarging the island and staining it a contrasting dark color as an accent to the light colored cabinets. Joe is a true craftsman and the island looks amazing like custom built furniture. Overall, we are thrilled with the outstanding job Joe from Pro Refinish did in transforming our ugly kitchen into a beautiful gourmet kitchen at a fraction of the cost of buying new cabinets.”

They were very respectful of our budget and we were able to stay within it. The guys that worked with them were very nice too. We were able to stay within the window of construction time, give or take a few days, and they were very careful to let me know in advance if there would be any delays. There was never a time that I was waiting for someone to come and no one came. “We presented a challenging project: a large addition; a strict budget; a long list of "needs"; and, placement limited by sight lines and parking. We added a two story addition of approximately 1200 square feet connecting through to the existing structure. This involved reorienting the exterior basement steps. The first floor consists of a laundry room, coat closet, kitchen, master bedroom, and bath with a zero entry shower. The second floor has an arched entry to a sewing nook, storage area and a media room. We used a mixture of tile, wood and carpet for the floors. We retained some brick walls and extensively used bead board to reflect the cottage nature of the existing home. Eddie, as he is now known to friends and neighbors alike, met with U.S. And our architect to discuss our plans. With his broad knowledge of construction and materials, Eddie was invaluable in providing us information that enabled us to make choices that met our budgetary constraints while achieving the look and feel that we desired. It was important to him that we were comfortable not only with him but our chosen options. The subcontractors and suppliers recommended and used by Eddie were all knowledgable and courteous and provided a full range of options. Our neighbors commented on how hard working and efficient they were. They worked hard on our behalf and took great care with our home. The work was done in a timely fashion despite uncooperative weather. Eddie was very hands on for our project. For most of the construction he was here daily. We also texted and spoke on the phone often. He always took the time to answer my questions and concerns, and was open to discussing options and changes and any budgetary consequences. He was a good sounding board on the many choices that needed to be made. He kept us informed on the timetables for the different trades. With Eddie's help and hard work we have a " rest-of-our-lifetime " home to love and enjoy. We look forward with working with him on some smaller projects that we have planned.
