“Elen designed a plan for a small plot that was effective at utilizing the existing plants, giving a simple and elegant finish to a previously haphazard garden. in addition, the planting plan she provided solved the problem of a very difficult water logged clay soil. She is full of knowledge and methodical in her approach.”

“I used Simpy Garden Design a few years ago to completely overhaul a very unloved large patio and surrounding borders. Katie is full of inspiration and ideas and created a beautiful area that has great atmosphere...something I would not have felt possible given how unpromising it was before. She is professional, reliable and really listens to what you want, there is no homogeneous, "one size fits all" approach with Katie! I can also say that the patio only gets better with age! “Faith provided me with a design and plant sourcing service. My garden was tired and several older shrubs where really past their best. Faith gave me the confidence to remove and replace instead of trying to work around old plants she also pointed out areas in the garden that were just not working form a design point of you and why. Which helped me justify making some radical changes and completely re-work the garden layout. She also pointed out how the larger trees in the garden needed maintenance and with Faiths team the work was carried out quickly and efficiently But the thing I found really tough was trying to understand which plants to put where and how to create the style of garden i was aiming for. This is where Faith was amazing, her plant knowledge and understanding was superb, she was instantly able to identify the sort of plants that would work for my soil and shade, and how to lay out a plan that gave interesting foliage and colour from early spring right through to autumn. Her clever design has given me a focal point and interesting paths so I can really appreciate my garden from several angles. The planting plan has provided a flow and the colour palette is exactly as I wanted. I never really appreciated how important it was to have a nice garden until now and my husband and i look out everyday and love the new space that has been created. Thank you.”

“I am over the moon with my new garden. It looks like a cutting edge show garden at Chelsea and random neighbours have been dropping by asking for tours. The team at Cool Gardens work really hard and are motivated and enthusiastic, and everyone is very good at what they do. There is an excellent builder and interiors designer working alongside the garden designers and I have ended up with a very contemporary and welcoming home that is the envy of my street.”

“Gill was wonderful to work with. We described what we wanted and Gill's designs were not just visually stunning but also in granular detail (as confirmed by Landscaper). Gill also managed through the project with our Landscaper and took ownership of the end to end project. This included recommending, supplying and planting all the plants. Gill worked well with the Landscaper, the Electrician and other sub contractors. Great work Gill highly recommended.”

“We asked Chiltern Garden Design to prepare and implement a planting plan to bring our walled garden to life. They have done a brilliant job, bringing together a range of unusual plants, trees and shrubs to ensure it looks great all year round with relatively little maintenance. Sam has also been a font of knowledge and help with a range of other areas such as dealing with honey fungus, managing some invasive weeds in the lawn and putting up a living roof on our garden shed. I could not recommend her more highly.”

“We just didn't know what to do with the small, neglected garden of our new house. But Jo did. She listened attentively to our ideas, then made exciting and quite daring suggestions that really stretched our imaginations, and encouraged us to be brave enough to go beyond the ordinary. The result is a stunning riverside garden that regularly stops passers-by in their tracks. Jo's detailed and professional illustrations enabled us to visualise the new garden. Her knowledge of plants has given us a garden full of interest which, with the clever use of different levels and textures, looks much bigger then it is. And she really cares about the gardens she creates. Nine months after the garden was finished, when Jo heard that the Thames had flooded, she contacted us and generously offered her help with any repairs and replanting needed. But inspite of two weeks under water, we didn't lose any plants or suffer any damage. Jo's clever design and planting (flood resilience was part of the brief) gave us a garden that withstood the floods and came back looking even better in it's second year. Jo was an absolute pleasure to work with.”

“Builders have recently taken out or damaged many of my shrubs and plants. I decided to use this as an opportunity to do something new in the garden and, to this end, I consulted Laara. As I did not have a lot of money to spend, we arranged a short consultation with a single site visit to focus on creating some shape and structure for the garden. Laara helped me to focus my ideas and together we gradually built up a picture of how my garden could look. As she was on site, Laara could easily tell me which of my ideas and wishes were viable and which of them were unrealistic. At the end of the visit, Laara sketched a plan of the garden with all the details that we had talked about and agreed upon. I can now use this plan to make the changes in the garden in stages. Over time, I will be able to create a new and fresh garden without having to do it all in one single expensive overhaul. Laara has a nice light touch. She guided me away from unworkable ideas and took the workable ones and expanded and developed them. She simplified my choices as my mind had become overwhelmed with all the possible options. At the same time, she recognised my desire for change and gave me some good ideas to work with. I would recommend Laars for her ability to understand and interpret client needs.”
