“I have been through many renovation projects in my career that were both larger and smaller in scale but none with a Contractor that was as professional and patient as Richard Thorne-Botham. Communication skills are key in renovation projects, especially ones at your own home and Richard has this covered! From our 1st meeting, to the countless meetings thereafter, to working over 3 seasons since we started in the fall then finished in the spring and to still be contacting Richard over a year after our job was completed and having Richard responsive as ever, the experience has been wonderful. I could go on but just call Richard and you will see for yourself. I highly recommend Distinctive Landscapes!”

“I've owned and renovated many properties over the years and have never come across a more professional and talented individual for design and execution of my backyard project. From my initial conversation with Keith, to the final walk-through some months later, his creativity, reliability, and attention to detail were well beyond my expectations. Unlike many other design contractors, Keith is hands on, and takes ownership in a very personal way with the progress and overall outcome of his projects. In a sea of willing contractors whose primary mission seems to be securing a job and initial payments, Keith is a refreshing and welcome change. In the few months since the conclusion of the project, I have had countless compliments on the job and it's completely custom appearance. Many thanks to Keith, his staff and the solid subs he uses. “We had our entire backyard taken from nothing to a dream oasis. Richard and his positive, respectful crew, worked with us until every detail we envisioned was a reality. They began by setting the grades for the entire project including the work to be done by our pool contractor. After that, they created natural retaining for our very sloped yard, constructed a concrete sports pad, laid flag stone, built a natural stone BBQ, fireplace, water fall, and pool house. Their attention to every detail is exactly what my wife and I were looking for. The crew finished by creating beautiful beds and plantings to suit our vision. Some of the things outside of their landscape skill set that we truly appreciated was their daily clean up, their respectful nature to our children and their constant willingness to listen to our thoughts. We would highly recommend Richard and the LandArt crew.”

“Very professional, full-service landscaping company. Installed a front-yard parking pad, retaining walls, and full garden landscaping for our Beaches house. Helped us through the permit process, quick and professional hardscaping, followed by a really terrific garden designer and great plantings that really work for our century home and are low-maintenance! Peter Solti and crew have also responded to our calls for help promptly on several occasions and most recently dropped off a free replacement capstone for one on a wall which had fallen and broken. We would highly recommend them.”

“We had a fantastic experience working with Jennifer. After a quick consult, she quickly delivered a simple and elegant plan that maximized our space and helped transform our spartan backyard into a relaxing oasis. Jennifer is very intuitive and quickly grasped what we were after: a clean, west-coast inspired, low maintenance space featuring bamboo, a dining and lounge space and an outdoor fireplace. We also challenged her to obscure our backyard parking pad which she accomplished through clever tree placement and a mix of materials including an Ipe deck, 18" Indian stone and asphalt. Special thanks to Dean at Kingsway Landscape Contractors for delivering an outstanding end product. The team was quick, clean and hassle free. They were also extremely thorough and helpful in providing counsel and/or connecting us with gas and electrical service providers as needed. We're thrilled and highly recommend their services.”
