“Michael is a master! Not only is he a creative designer with an amazing aesthetic, but he created a very functional space that I use every day. My family and friends will always choose my backyard for dining above any restaurant because the beauty and tranquility of my outdoor space creates the best kind of mood for social gatherings. My landscaping is gorgeous and easy to maintain. My backyard is now an extra room in my home, an annuity that I did not consider when I first started planning to re-design my yard. I am so glad that I hired Michael to design my yard because he solved all the problems of the previous landscaping: I now have excellent drainage, complete privacy, a water feature that eliminates any traffic noise, and shade that makes my south facing yard habitable, even in the middle of the day. “So, about a year and a half ago I bought a small house built in 1939. Lots of charm, but the backyard, not so much. Small, nothing but a lawn, tiny little patio cover off the garage, and a big redwood at the corner. Oh, and my neighbors looked right over it from their second floor. I and my house guests would hide under the patio cover to get shade and privacy. It didn't seem like there was a way to fix all this, but Gary surveyed the yard, its problems and my neighborhood's style. He then listened closely to my concerns and was diligent in understanding my particular likes and dislikes. He came back with three different plans and I liked all of them. After I committed to a plan, he went to work and each and every member of his crew was friendly and professional during the work. Finished on time and in budget. And I love my yard! It went from being a sore spot to the favorite feature of my house. Lots of privacy, shade, and visual interest. And a tub with hot and cold water :) My friends and family are huge fans as well. “Amber has a great ability to visualize space and utilize materials and plants as her palette. She was able to maximize my backyard and front-yard in ways I had not envisioned, turning them into beautiful outdoor living areas where I could socialize and enjoy the Napa Valley weather, wine and company. My house tends to be the gathering place for neighbors and has become the topic of conversation with guests. I have referred her to many of my good friends and she has actually designed quite a few of their spaces as well. She is easy to work with, communicative and an artist in her field.”

“Molly Roy completely redesigned our front and side yards for a low-water footprint with native plants. She consulted closely with us all through the project and offered us many alternatives, both in look and in specific plants, that we had not considered. It turned out beautifully and we hope to work with her again on the rest of our property. She was knowledgeable and easy to work with and we were simply delighted with the result.”

“Phil Gray did a complete redesign and relandscaping of our front and back yards. As we wanted to move to a drought tolerant landscape, Phil created a design and plan to achieve this. Phil and his professional crew removed all of our lawn and most shrubs and created a large back patio with gorgeous pavers and a small front courtyard with pavers and blocks and then filled in with drought tolerant and native plants. We are thrilled with the result.”

“I met with Annette and Mike after our first meeting to conceptualize our plans for a modern, streamlined industrial design for our backyard remodel. I found them competent, open and engaging. While Mike brings his talent for design and his vast knowlege of specifics to the table, Annette sees the picture and the overall vision. Their talent lies in how their two approaches work together. We collaborated on an exciting design that encompassed sculpture, shade, differences in shape, texture, color and scale. The project ended up containing two entertaining areas, two shade structure, gabion walls, industrial galvanized gardening containers, a giant galvanized gate and patterned, colored concrete with a full outdoor kitchen and landscaping that was completely drought-tolerant. They took into account our family's needs and gave terrific recommendations for our general contractor, Mr. Steve Dobson. While the project went above budget, that was our choice, not theirs. To top it off, they came to photograph the job and post the images on their website, with our complete blessing. We hope to work with them again. They are delightful and creative and collaborative to boot!”

“We hired Chris Corbett Design to transform our front/side/back yards into beautiful spaces that we can use year-round. We could not be happier with the end result! Chris is a true professional from the design through construction phases. During design, he was very thoughtful about how the yard design (from layout to materials) would relate to our mid-century modern house. He was conscious of our budget and made decisions to use quality materials and craftsmen where it counted. He took the time to show us extensive samples - either in person or via photos- of all of his design ideas, including landscape plants and materials. Chris is happy to offer suggestions when asked, and to incorporate clients' ideas into his designs. He is detail oriented and we were very comfortable with his oversight of the whole project. Overall, we would give Chris our highest recommendation!”
