“I had a fairly large border (approx 8m x 5m) which had been neglected for a few years. I wanted to create a low maintenance flower bed and liked the idea of a country garden look. Ben and Paul came round and assessed what was there in terms of position (light/shade), soil and the shrubs which were worth retaining. We also discussed budget. I then received a planting plan with a quotation and commissioned the work. The bed was cleared and planted mid June and I am delighted with the result. I now have a bed which will flower more or less from May to September and will require increasingly less maintenance as it matures. FGD are extremely knowledgeable and gave me advice on other areas of my garden (not areas which will result in work for them). I do have another two areas which do need a makeover and I will certainly commission them to undertake the project.”

“Very pleased with the job Zane and his team did, it's high quality and very sturdy. They came in to sort out a poor job done by a previous company. As soon as we met Zane we had confidence that he could help us. The work done has given us a great base from which we will now be able to make our garden into something really lovely. Once we are ready to do that we will be contacting Golden Gardens again.”

“Jane provided a complete garden design by post, based on our own measurements and new spaces planned, once a planned house extension is completed. The end deliverable was a surprise so we communicated almost entirely by email, and it was a complete success. Jane is extremely knowledgeable about garden design and was always prompt in responding to questions, queries and general email comms. I thoroughly enjoyed the process! I felt she understood our brief well and went the extra mile in creating a pintrest board of photo ideas to accompany the design, as well as sketched options and a scale plan of the final design. I loved her sketches so much I had to ask her for some colour versions of the final designs as they bring to life her ideas so well, visually. Jane has kept in touch since, and kindly offered her support and advice should any questions come up once we complete our extension and move on to the garden, over the coming months. “We just didn't know what to do with the small, neglected garden of our new house. But Jo did. She listened attentively to our ideas, then made exciting and quite daring suggestions that really stretched our imaginations, and encouraged us to be brave enough to go beyond the ordinary. The result is a stunning riverside garden that regularly stops passers-by in their tracks. Jo's detailed and professional illustrations enabled us to visualise the new garden. Her knowledge of plants has given us a garden full of interest which, with the clever use of different levels and textures, looks much bigger then it is. And she really cares about the gardens she creates. Nine months after the garden was finished, when Jo heard that the Thames had flooded, she contacted us and generously offered her help with any repairs and replanting needed. But inspite of two weeks under water, we didn't lose any plants or suffer any damage. Jo's clever design and planting (flood resilience was part of the brief) gave us a garden that withstood the floods and came back looking even better in it's second year. Jo was an absolute pleasure to work with.”
