“I had a fairly large border (approx 8m x 5m) which had been neglected for a few years. I wanted to create a low maintenance flower bed and liked the idea of a country garden look. Ben and Paul came round and assessed what was there in terms of position (light/shade), soil and the shrubs which were worth retaining. We also discussed budget. I then received a planting plan with a quotation and commissioned the work. The bed was cleared and planted mid June and I am delighted with the result. I now have a bed which will flower more or less from May to September and will require increasingly less maintenance as it matures. FGD are extremely knowledgeable and gave me advice on other areas of my garden (not areas which will result in work for them). I do have another two areas which do need a makeover and I will certainly commission them to undertake the project.”

“I hired WH to landscape our garden, which involved removing grass and relaying new lawn, extending flower beds. planting new trees and shrubs; and to modify the front area of the house to create more parking space. WH proved to be very reliable, always advising me ahead of time in case of schedule issue; they work with extra care to minimise the inconvenience and the results are better than expected when I decided the project. I will use them again.”

The work was carried out as agreed, on budget and on time! We are very happy with it and 6 months on would highly recommend Waterside for projects of varying size and complexity .”

“The design and work was carried out in a professional and efficient manner in all aspects of the project, we had our kitchen done in January and the garden in February, our challenge was "The kitchen looks excellent, lets hope you can do they same with the garden, so no pressure", they succeeded! There was a lot of groundwork to be done, many trees to be removed, ground to be levelled, water feature etc, and we think the final result of the project in photographs shows the finished article, just some sun required now to thoroughly enjoy the results. The installation guys were hit with rain, snow, sun basically all that the English climate could through at them and they just carried on regardless. Thanks!”

“Faith provided me with a design and plant sourcing service. My garden was tired and several older shrubs where really past their best. Faith gave me the confidence to remove and replace instead of trying to work around old plants she also pointed out areas in the garden that were just not working form a design point of you and why. Which helped me justify making some radical changes and completely re-work the garden layout. She also pointed out how the larger trees in the garden needed maintenance and with Faiths team the work was carried out quickly and efficiently But the thing I found really tough was trying to understand which plants to put where and how to create the style of garden i was aiming for. This is where Faith was amazing, her plant knowledge and understanding was superb, she was instantly able to identify the sort of plants that would work for my soil and shade, and how to lay out a plan that gave interesting foliage and colour from early spring right through to autumn. Her clever design has given me a focal point and interesting paths so I can really appreciate my garden from several angles. The planting plan has provided a flow and the colour palette is exactly as I wanted. I never really appreciated how important it was to have a nice garden until now and my husband and i look out everyday and love the new space that has been created. Thank you.”

“My wife and I were looking for a Landscape Designer/Architect who could make imaginative suggestions for extensive hard landscaping, as well as planting, etc. Having already interviewed numerous other firms (who evidently oversold their services on their web-sites and did not seem sure at all of designing hard landscapes) James was professional and installed confidence that he would interpret our brief with his own ideas. We commissioned the design stage of the works, and after receiving a preliminary design, we had a couple of meetings to develop the design, and now we have a superb masterplan for our gardens, paved/planter areas, planting plan and budget costings, which is exactly what we wanted. We are going to phase the works and have an accurate final costing from Designscape (and await a price from another to compare costs.).”

“Gill was wonderful to work with. We described what we wanted and Gill's designs were not just visually stunning but also in granular detail (as confirmed by Landscaper). Gill also managed through the project with our Landscaper and took ownership of the end to end project. This included recommending, supplying and planting all the plants. Gill worked well with the Landscaper, the Electrician and other sub contractors. Great work Gill highly recommended.”
