“David Bartsch and I have worked on numerous projects together on Nantucket Island, he as the Landscape Architect and my company Nicholas Ferrantella Landscaping performing the landscape installations and maintenance. Founded in 1980, we have worked with many architects in the 33 years and David Bartsch is our favorite. His design of a small park on Nantucket Island for Nantucket’s Land Bank is brilliant and "Fair in the Main" has become a favorite place for people to stop and enjoy the peaceful garden and granite fountain. “Melissa MacDonald is a very talented and professional Landscape Architect. My husband and I are both architects and we had been trying to design the landscape for our home in the heart of historic Lexington MA. for a year. When we asked Melissa to help us, she promptly delivered a design that was sensitive to the traditional setting of Lexington's historic district and satisfied our spatial requests. The hard-scape is elegant and we have been enjoying the sequence of blooming plants since May. I am thrilled with Melissa's design and with her service. She worked seamlessly with the contractor who highly respected her expertise. “Laura and her Cultivar team did an outstanding job for us as we did a full outdoor renovation: new plants and beds, trees, replaced the lawn, added an irrigation and drainage system, patio and pergola install, deck work, stone walls and paths and outdoor lighting. We are thrilled with the results and continue to work with Cultivar for maintenance. Laura knows her stuff and is very approachable and easy to work with. “Rob and his team were at my home over the course of two seasons, installing an incredible landscape in both the front and back of my property. It's not often you can say it was a pleasure having a work crew at your house, but my boys, my dog and I all enjoyed having Gilmore Landscape Architecture on site. They are intelligent, kind, respectful, creative and talented individuals. The exterior of my home was completely transformed; Rob's expertise in terrain and site planning was fundamental to creating a stunning final result. He made sense of a plot that was uneven and mostly covered in cracked pavement. It now instead features a kitchen garden, native trees and plantings, a reflecting pond, meditation rock garden, as well as a driveable grass paver driveway and beautiful gabion rock walls with wood bench toppers. --Allison TC”

“Description Of Work: The Narrow Lane, through Ron Goode, it's owner/operator and his team, performed various services for us, including 3 new paver walkways with cobblestone lining them, a new driveway, new sod in the front, new side and back lawns, new plantings, new retaining walls, two tree removals, large overgrown shrub removals, planting of several new trees and other plants, as well as fertilizing, leaf removal/Spring cleanup and some general landscape maintenance. Comments: It went great! Our main design and construction work required every part of our yard to be torn up, excavated, or otherwise touched with a shovel, mini-excavator, or other tool/piece of machinery and Ron worked hard to ensure that the disruptions to my family were minimal. He also listened to each request, made recommendations based on our budget, worked hard to get the estimate within our budget, and has produced a product that every neighbor has complemented! We love how it all turned out and have had several people ask if it is a new house! I highly recommend The Narrow Lane for not only landscape design and construction, but also maintenance. Ron will work hard to ensure that he gives you exactly what you want in a budget you can be happy with.”

“No one is better than Blade of Grass. Exceptional vision coupled with practical advice. Our backyard plan morphed from a simple "let's knock off the rotting deck" to a backyard redo replete with blue stone patio, field stone wall, irrigation system, tree removal and many new trees and plantings. The team worked hard under difficult conditions (no access for machinery, giant boulder to dig out), the job was done in a timely manner and the outcome surpassed my very high expectations. Tom and Pete were easy to work with, professional and fun. They listened to what we wanted and guided us on key plantings/trees. When a winter storm caused a tree to list heavily to one side, they came and replanted it - almost a year after the job. I am incredibly happy with our backyard transformation and highly recommend Blade.”
