“Elen designed a plan for a small plot that was effective at utilizing the existing plants, giving a simple and elegant finish to a previously haphazard garden. in addition, the planting plan she provided solved the problem of a very difficult water logged clay soil. She is full of knowledge and methodical in her approach.”

“We commissioned Special Gardens to design and manage our project in the South of France. From the first evaluation of the site, Sally interpreted our requirements with a full and sympathetic analysis of what we hoped to achieve. This was then tempered by Sally's absolute knowledge and understanding of the region and it's climate. Her recommendations for planting was outstanding and reflected both our personal style and the practicalities of the the garden. We were astonished to be presented with beautiful hand drawn plans at the end of the project. Sally has created a low maintenance, contemporary garden which flourishes even in the most adverse of conditions and she consistently worked with us to ensure our vision was accurately delivered. Sally took control of the project by sourcing the plants and managing the builders and landscapers. The net result was a hassle free experience . I would highly recommend her to any prospective client”

“Wild to Wonderful, run by Cathy Cornish, is an excellent garden design company. I used them for a major project in 2008 and was very happy and am using them again now for our current project. Cathy is a designer who listens carefully to her client's requirements and then turns them into well presented briefs to suit the level of budget available. Cathy is also a great gardener and pops in twice a year to help with major prunings etc.”

“Amy created a garden about 5 years ago for our new house in the country on a difficult sloping site. She is the perfect designer, listening to the client and producing both design and planting plans that complement the house and incorporate the client's thoughts. The planting has taken account of the soil and site conditions and continues to thrive. The garden has evolved over the 5 years and Amy continues to give advice where needed and encouragement where plants mis-behave. Amy is adaptable, professional and a delight to work with. We would have no hesitation in recommending her.”

“Rory re-designed our garden three years ago. I found his advice most informed and professional. More to the point he was able to take my somewhat vague ideas and transform them into exactly what I was looking for! All with great charm and grace. He has since come to see us to check how the garden grows and add to the planting scheme. Always full of good advice. I would highly recommend Rory if you are looking for someone who is creative and can translate your dream into a reality. He has a very good knowledge of plants and what will work plus some excellent ideas for landscaping and making the most of your garden. We were thrilled and the positive feedback from our friends and guests says it all.”

“Gill was wonderful to work with. We described what we wanted and Gill's designs were not just visually stunning but also in granular detail (as confirmed by Landscaper). Gill also managed through the project with our Landscaper and took ownership of the end to end project. This included recommending, supplying and planting all the plants. Gill worked well with the Landscaper, the Electrician and other sub contractors. Great work Gill highly recommended.”

“Builders have recently taken out or damaged many of my shrubs and plants. I decided to use this as an opportunity to do something new in the garden and, to this end, I consulted Laara. As I did not have a lot of money to spend, we arranged a short consultation with a single site visit to focus on creating some shape and structure for the garden. Laara helped me to focus my ideas and together we gradually built up a picture of how my garden could look. As she was on site, Laara could easily tell me which of my ideas and wishes were viable and which of them were unrealistic. At the end of the visit, Laara sketched a plan of the garden with all the details that we had talked about and agreed upon. I can now use this plan to make the changes in the garden in stages. Over time, I will be able to create a new and fresh garden without having to do it all in one single expensive overhaul. Laara has a nice light touch. She guided me away from unworkable ideas and took the workable ones and expanded and developed them. She simplified my choices as my mind had become overwhelmed with all the possible options. At the same time, she recognised my desire for change and gave me some good ideas to work with. I would recommend Laars for her ability to understand and interpret client needs.”
