“We commissioned BonTon to create a mural for above the stove and a backsplash. All the tile was custom made and then hand painted which, in our minds, makes every single tile a pice of art. BonTon worked with us to get the colors and concept just right for our situation, style and layout. They made suggestions based on our colors and decor. The results were amazing and the whole backsplash and mural are now focal points and conversation pieces. What worked: * Custom made with a unique look * Vibrant colors * Interesting design * Delivered in the promised timeline (it takes time to create tile from scratch) What didn't work: * We wished there would have been a little more handholding as we're not DYI people and have never done tile before. We recommend you ask lots of questions. We had some scary moments trying to figure out how to make the mural fit that could have been avoided with a little more communication and education. * Each tile has spider web cracks (which are beautiful), but we didn't know the grout was going to get in there and change their color. Wish we knew this ahead of time. Challenges: * Our installer needed more direction than with a plain simple tile layout. They had never installed something like this before. If you like their work and concepts we would recommend BonTon in a heartbeat.”
