We love our kitchen gadgets here on Houzz UK, and the spiralizer is no exception! Whether it's courgetti or decorative garnish you're looking to make, the spiralizer is a really useful tool!

So, do you own a spiralizer? And what do you use it for if so? Let us know in the comments below!

Yes I use mine for courgetti or zoodles (zucchini noodles - American word for courgette) so look up those recipes too. Reasonably good value gadget at about £30 and tip is to keep the box and store it in that as otherwise it is an awkward shape in your cupboard and you can't stack anything on top of it. Have a go as soon as you buy it, don't let it sit in the cupboard!

I've got one! Fantastic!! I adore pasta so used a courgette and made spaghetti. A really clever gadget and loads of recipes online too. Only downside is its a fairly bulky piece of kit for the kitchen

String vertical tension cables down from white circle above onto the side of each step (drilled through and secured with bolts) and have one that spirals up those vertical cables (linking each). Although not a fan of spiral staircases, this one is a great centrepiece. To emphasise on this great feature, I would put 3 or 5 LED spotlights/downlights within the white circle above that point towards the steps. I think that will look good. If you are more adventurous paint each steps in tones (i.e red, orange, yellow, white or in green or blue hues - depending on your taste of colour of course) or random multi-colour (green, red, orange, blue, yellow and white).

I use it to make a crispy chicken leg: you need to cook the chicken confit first, remove the thigh bone and then chill it. Once it's cold I wrap loads of potato spaghetti round it, brush it with butter and the volia! Colour up in a pan, chuck it in the oven for 10 mins and chow down on that bad boy!

I spiralize eg raw beetroot, courgette, apple and celeriac root for a fresh and different salad - saves cooking. Also, spiralize raw potato to use to make rosti. The machines usually also come with a blade to make ribbons too.

Thought it would be one of those gadgets gathering dust but use it loads! So easy to use, quick to clean and makes guilt free 'spaghetti'!

I use ours for courgette spaghetti etc.. But also I use it with potato then roast, voila a healthy version of curly fries.

I do and I definitely recommend it to anyone who is trying to get a more more veg in to their diet. It makes it more interesting. Courgette pasta is fantastic.

Courgetti spaghetti is incredible - anyone got any good recipes that incorporates it?

My favorite is to just make my normal marinara sauce with meat (that I typically serve over spaghetti pasta) and mix the zucchini noodles into the sauce right before serving. (I usually put the zoodles into boiling salted water for about 30 seconds first, and then drain, before adding them to the sauce, but that probably isn't necessary). The zoodles will add water to the sauce, so a thicker sauce is better, so you can just incorporate the added water into the sauce. It really has the "mouth feel" of spaghetti pasta, and the taste of the zucchini is pretty bland and picks up the flavor of the sauce. My husband, who gave up eating pasta a year or so ago, has been eating marinara with meat sauce straight (i.e. without any noodles) and he is thrilled with the zoodle innovation. He admitted that he has missed the "feel" of pasta in his sauce, and finds the zoodles an excellent substitute.

Blanch them and then toss in chopped mint, finely diced shallots, good olive oil and squeeze of lemon juice

They are also delicious raw in a "roll up" sandwich--hummus, sweet red peppers, onion, tomatoes, avocados, raw zucchini noodles, feta cheese, salt and pepper--rolled up on a flat bread. Delicious! Add meat (chicken) or some black beans for extra protein.
