Is this flagstone and can it be bought in narrower strips?

I have large back yard that I would like border to give character. Lawn does curve in spots and I would probably need to worry about tree roots growing under at some point. just looking for ideas.

3M Command strips are great! We have pictures all the way up our narrow stairs and they have never come off, I sometimes catch them when bringing the washing down and they have always stayed on the wall, when moving them they have never taken the paint away. My friend uses them in a rental as they don't damage the paint work. Just make sure you have the correct ones for the weight of the frame. I always get mine from Amazon.

Hi Kate - we have two bathrooms and both have wired-in LED mirrors, and they’re great! The first one came from Bathstore years ago. We liked it so much that we bought a second one for our en-suite. The second one came from an online company called Pebble Grey, and we chose one with a small cupboard built in. It’s a godsend - it stores a surprisingly large amount of stuff that I seem to accumulate!!! I can’t remember the costs, but given that I’m as frugal as frugal can be, I think it wasn’t too bad!

Congratulations on your purchase. It looks like a lovely space to make your own. How little is your girl? One thing I've learned is that empty open spaces are not necessarily immediately conducive to kids play. They like hiding themselves and things behind things (trees, bushes, flowers, dens, playhouses). The series of rooms / zones thing could really work. The big hits all the kids I know are water play and a swing. Water play could be a tray or a raised table somewhere. Or a mud kitchen. And of course the classic summer paddling pool and jumping over the sprinkler. Could you fit a swing in somewhere? Maybe a pergola attached to the garden office? It can be a baby swing seat to begin with and then turn into a stylish boho rope seat suitable for older kids and teenagers. Once girls get older, the stats show that most do not do as much physical exercise. They do seem to like trampolining though- and it's fantastic exercise! Do think about where one could go in the future (including the dug in type).

covering flagstones with an evergreen plant or another material?

Agree with Angie. Remove them and maybe gravel around the planting you have and extend the gravel to cover where the flagstones were, with sun loving tough plants such as thyme and creeping rosemary which will spill over and cover your wooden retaining panels. Appreciate you have already bought and planted the cordyline but if they die in winter what about lavendar? Just make sure the gravel is in a complementary colour to your patio.
