Bathroom renovation and reconfiguration

Hi everyone

Im looking to undertake a reconfiguration of my bathroom. I want to knock down the wall between the two and board one of the doors along the hallway such that I have only one door. I’m open to which door should be kept/lost.

deally I don’t want to move the windows but these will need replacing so not the wnd of the world if they are moved.

Ideally I want:

- shower behind glass screen or wet room behind a wall

- free standing bath with a flat edge against the wall

- freestanding double vanity unit

Looking for layout ideas.

I’ve attached floorplan, photos and ideas of what we like

I’m not sure knocking the WC into the bathroom gains you much because you lose a wall. Would a second WC be useful?

Thanks Jonathan. I guess I would like some good storage and this might enable me to put the shower where the toilet currently is, thus freeing up the corner where youve placed the shower.

The chimney breast is avtually knocked out from a kitchen i did downstairs so maybe that would give me an option as I do like your design.

Hi Ashleigh, It depends on how much work you would like to do on the property. If you are looking to move in the near future, maybe sprucing it up a little might make you feel better. However, creating a hallway cutting through the master bedroom might be an option, it would make the master bedroom smaller however the space would function better, you could close off the door between bathroom and master. meaning no one has to walk through to get to the bathroom. Or maybe if there is room to extend into the back, you would have more space to explore other options. Hello, Although the layout may be uneven because of building restrictions, you can still get plenty of seating on the wall opposite the kitchen. You could also have tall units opposite the bathroom for extra storage. You could even create a small desk area in the space with a fold-out desk from a tall unit. The soil pipe is where the the toilet is now. The wall where the bath is atm is external. The window wall obviously external, all others are interior. To put WC where Johnathan suggests is possible only with toilets which supports elbow connectors which are required for that location, not all toilets are suitable for 90 degree elbows. If so total length of toilet waste pipe including two 90 degree elbows will be around 5.5m running on outside walls.

keep the toilet as is. and then have a large shower, double vanity and bath under the window.
