Placing two TVs in family room

Is there any better idea for how to place 2 TVs in one family room, one connected to Play Station and the other one for family watching TV shows? I have a draft to place them in one wall with a sitting area in front of them but not so convinced.
What do you think?

separation isn't necessary, and it can be used at the same time yes.

yes, it would in terms of size. My concern is that all the sitting area then would end up oriented towards that area, and the room might look weird or asymmetrical...? I am enclosing a few more picture of the fireplace area seen from the front, so that you can judge better. The other alternative that comes to mind would be to make the fireplace wall a bit wider, so that it fits the TV above... do you think that´s possible? Thanks so much!

There isn't enough space on that wall. There are 2 narrow windows above the fireplace which make using that wall for anything almost impossible.

The brief was to create a cosy and comfortable family sitting room in a room which is situated close to the kitchen but that, up until that point, had been rather redundant. They wanted the whole family (a couple with three children) to be able to sit comfortably in there together and for it to be appealing, cosy and practical in decor. The lighting was very poor with an ugly overhead pendant and a couple of wall lights. We removed the pendant, putting decorative wall lights on either side of the TV, shelf mounted lights on the shelving units and floor sockets under the sofa so lamps could sit on tables at either end of it wired into a 5 amp circuit that switched at the door. I also added a couple of picture lights. BEFORE: AFTER: A large TV was important to them and the only place to put it was above the fireplace. The existing surround was too high so the fireplace was replaced with a slightly lower and more simple limestone design. A large bespoke shelving unit was designed and built for the wall opposite the fireplace. This was painted so the interior was the colour of the walls and the exterior the colour of the rest of the woodwork in the room which looks very effective. There had been a radiator on this wall but this was removed and two low cast iron radiators were placed within the window reveal. They are all delighted with the new room and use it every day.

I'm trying to figure out if that sofa is sitting back flush against the breakfast bar? A quick sketch of the floorplan would help. I think you're trying to squeeze a lot of different pieces of furniture into one room - bookcase, linen cupboard and console table. It could end up looking very cluttered and cramped. My instinct would be to get a good carpenter to build one bespoke piece that can accomodate everything - bookshelves above, cupboards below, and made to measure spaces for tv and hifi. A custom built unit can be pricey but you get exactly what you need, plus builtin furniture transforms a room into something cosy and homely. I'd use most of the wall where the Olympic Games poster is. The tv should be towards the corner where the tub chair is presently, and i'd use the smallest tv possible! Consider having the unit spraypainted in a colour rather than plain oak- this would really add personality.

Having them side by side so to speak will present many challenges. Your eye will be constantly drawn to the other tv/gaming tv. I speak from experience. I have had a woodburning stove on one wall (a very large freestanding one) and a tv on the perpendicular wall. They competed constantly. Agree with Sarah. Move the gaming screen to another room.

So whilst someone is watching TV they can glance across and see the gaming screen at the time. Annoying and distracting I would think, but then it’s your home so up to you.
