Help with kitchen tiles, please
Comments (18)Homebase does some great porcelain tiles - Luna. The beige (also available in black but won't recommend) one will work well with your units I think. You can use the 300x600 size for the wall and the 400x400 for floor. They are not expensive at all, we paid only around £12/m when we did our bathroom in the old flat, hope the photos below show. Be aware they are very difficult to drill though. The word porcelain says it all! :). For the splash black though, it's been my dream to have a coloured glass one, any colour will go well with your neutrally coloured units. So if you managed to save a bit on floor tiles, I'd use the savings on glass. All the best!...See MoreHiding tile half cuts, please help, tiler coming in 2 days!
Comments (22)Thank you very much for your comments A.S,, Kazza, Casa Ceramica and Jonathan. Apologies for my delayed response! The tiler did indeed suggest putting another layer of aquadry backer board over the moisture resistant mdf so thank you for your concerns. Trouble is he then discovered the edge of the bath has a manufacturing fault so the whole project had to be put on hold until a engineer comes out to solve it. It is so frustrating! Still gives me a little longer to decide how to deal with the chrome strip I want to put down the side of the bath panel and the bath. The tiler said it would not show up very well with the current design where the frame is flush with the bath. If I build it out by 5cm with a sliver of tile, I can have the full effect of it but the downside is the spacing between bath and basin is quite narrow. Your thoughts as always are very welcome!!!! Thanks again...See MoreHelp with bathroom tile colour please
Comments (5)I too like the shiny white tiles in the photo. Although you made me look at them again after reading your reservations about possible associations with a 'gents loo', haha, but I don't think it will look like one. I think they can look great with a blue floor. In your photo it looks more like grey though....See Morehelp with tiling in the bathroom pretty please
Comments (33)These are the tile samples I have so far. On the left - small top dark grey, under that is a tile with faux stepped marble effect tiles that are more slate toned. Large tile to the right is the mandarin stone one (v expensive, lol) The walnut in the middle I love the pattern but it’s not as rich a colour as I wanted and I can’t find anything else online in an American walnut style tile. The bottom tile is a v v pale grey with similar pattern to the mandarin stone one. How would you work these tiles together? Walnut floor and sink unit and dark grey all over the walls? Just the patterned grey on the back of the shower wall and sink area and plain grey on other walls?? :0/...See Moreleelee
