What size is that crown molding around the window?

We have 2 small windows like that in the dining room and we wonder if we should just do a regular trim around it like you have on this picture or does a more impressive top part make the windows look bigger?

Hello everyone, Sorry that I didn't reply before. Believe or not, it's been almost 2 months without internet. I moved to the new flat and it is just amazing. I had a problem with the curtains, blinds, etc. I couldn't fit any of it because the rail would be where the door opens (ceiling), so I would loose over 40cm throughout the whole window. So I've choose something a bit unusual but very, very beautiful: duette blinds. About the furniture, we've decided to do a bar/shelve unit behind the sofa and the sofa will be looking toward the window (if you know what a mean). In front of the sofa, I will do a small tv unit. Therefore, I will not loose all the beautiful view that I've got. What do you think? Now I need to plan a bar/shelve unit behind the sofa. The designer gave me some ideas, but I found it very square-ish.... I really appreciate all the comments and the help. You all are good at it and have helped me a lot. Hi ,Yes I have tried but sadly I m unable to influence the cause and so am left trying to find the best ways of dealing with the problem internally.I read somewhere that cork tiles may be a better option than carpet and wondered if any one had any ideas of possible options .

Disappointed in having to have metal trim around tiled bathroom window

I absolutely hate those trim pieces. When you are spending hundreds or thousands on tile to do a project and then finish it with these trim products it looks cheap and tacky. Plus when you are using a classic or vintage tile those shiny metal pieces or worse the cheap white plastic doesn't match. Just ruins the whole thing. I suspect builders like this kind of trim because it fast and easy to use and covers a multitude of sins. You don't have to be a particularly skilled tiler. Nor do you have to do any special cuts.

I’m no expert on this but does seem to be a problem with poor ventilation. Quite common especially with older properties as new additions such as upvc windows, insulation, blocked up chimneys, damp proofing, etc. etc. basically means that any moisture in the air has nowhere to go and as the weather turns colder that moisture will be attracted to cold spots such as windows and exterior walls. This condensation ends up a breeding ground for mold which I think is what you’re seeing here. But like I say I’m no expert so I’d get a second opinion and maybe a damp specialist to rule out any other underlying causes.
